Seikon no Qwaser II
Sasha's mission continues as he infiltrates an all girls private school in search of the Magdalena of Thunder. Unbeknownst to him, however, the remaining Twelve Adepts are also at the school searching for the artifact. Obviously this is the best anime of the season  Three (uncensored) episodes out so far, and things are starting to heat up. The season had a slow start but it's getting into gear now it looks like it. Plus everyone's fan favorite dominatrix returns in the latest episode. I knew they were going to diverge from the manga, but the anime is still an enjoyable watch for me.

Glad to hear there are some uncensored episodes out there. When I first started looking I couldn't find any, but maybe now I'll have better luck. Absolutely no point in watching a censored version of this.

Agreed. Because of other time crunches, I'll probably wait until a few more uncensored episodes are out before getting caught up, but I liked the first one enough that I will definitely be following the DC versions of this one. Sadly, we have to settle for the lower-quality fansubs to get the uncensored version because of the way it's made available. 
And I'll probably paste this onto the thread for the first season when I have more time. |

More of a playful joke, since I wasn't sure how many people here actually followed it.
And yeah, the low-quality uncensored are kinda lame, but I got through the first season well enough then just rewatched the BD for awesome quality upgrade... I especially want a better quality scene with Hana and Tsubasa in the shower from episode 3 Kinda funny how the anime has completely out-fanserviced the manga... I'm also interested in seeing if they make Hana and Ayame compete for Katja's 'punishments'

The characters are the main draw for me. Most of them are funny, memorable, and some of my favorites out there currently. Katja and Hana have one of the funniest, sexiest, yet cutest and most endearing relationships out there, and by themselves they're fun to watch. The story's nothing too special (two groups, one good, one evil, trying to find a magical artifact of magical power) but the characters, setting, and execution all make it worthwhile. It's nice to see a show based on the actual elements for a change (iron, copper, sulfur, chlorine) rather than the Greek elements (fire, water, etc) and the way they use the powers is pretty creative and unique, and they throw in science stuff alot (melting point, density, number of electrons, oxidation, and so forth). Though they do a bit of 'combo' attacks like Hydrogen and Oxygen users combining powers to control water in unison, or Silicon and Carbon working in unison to create some liquid and metal I forget the name of (chemistry was my least favorite class). Only complaint I have is it's pretty much gone awry from the manga at this point. They cut out a lot of character development chapters, or just plain change them outright (the OVA was based on a chapter that explored Katja's past and her ties to the late Russian empire that Rasputin helped murder and was quite serious.. the OVA made it about a guy using powers to make girls boobs grow bigger and was more comedic [though I did like the stereotypical 'physical examination day' at the school for the girls, which was funny) The anime is more 'fun' now.. more fanservice and comedy than the manga has. I like to think of it like the manga is the true story and the anime is just the characters goofing around and having pure fun. Both have their appeal (the anime focuses a bit more on Miyuri who gets kind of ignored in the manga later on, which is always nice, I like her) But they cut out a lot of stuff with Lizzie (another favorite) which annoys me. |

The fact that this sold well and got a sequel makes me weep. Jesus christ it sucks.
Characters with irritating personalities - which we've seen plenty times before btw. The story itself is by far nothing new as well. Topped off with probably the dumbest way to aquire power I've ever seen. The power system COULD have been done well, making the fights both intellectually and explosively interesting, but in the end it's simply stale and pretty much alltogether devoid of any entertainment. |

Figured I'd just bump this up since the final episode of season 2 finished.
Epic finale, I must say. Figures they'd shove everything awesome into the final episode of the season and bait us. Oh well, season 3 is only a year away or so. Though I am disappointed with some of the changes they did from the manga (which is a lot). Shame they cut out Lizzy's training chapters so she just kind of shows up out of nowhere in the final episode. Oh well, she's still awesome. C'mon and announce a license for this already, Funi. |

If anyone it would be Media Blasters, the extreme echi stuff is more their style. As for the series, I keep putting it on the back burner because I have little time to watch and the other shows of the season are better. Currently stalled on episode 7. I plan to finish it at some point in the near future though, mostly likely when 12 becomes available uncensored.
Truth, except the boobs and the action which bring it up to being mediocre and borderline watchable for me instead of being totally worthless. It could have been a lot better as far as the story and action go though. |
