[14:52] Tempest: people are idiots
[14:53] Tempest: why do they constantly send questions to newsroom
[14:53] Tempest: things like "Who do I contact for Akira rights ?"
[14:53] Tempest: obviously they've looked at the contact page, what don't they understand about "News Submissions, Press Releases, etc" ?
[14:53] Zac: I get those too
[14:53] Tempest: did you get that one today ?
[14:53] Zac: Which I suppose makes more sense
[14:53] Zac: Nope
[14:53] Zac: But I've had it before
[14:53] Tempest: oh, that makes lots of sense
[14:54] Zac: Why would someone seriously interested in doing license business contact me?
[14:54] Tempest: I'm just wondering if this bozo spammed all our addys in hopes of an answer.
[14:54] Tempest: heh, dumb ?
[14:54] Tempest: are they sending you a question about how to contact rights managers, or are they e-mailing you asking for the rights to do something ?
[14:55] Tempest: I get more of the latter than the former
[14:55] Tempest: because of the encyc
[14:55] Zac: Both
[14:55] Tempest: they think its a catalog of our properties
[14:55] Zac: And I get more "Where do I send money to buy XXX" than anything else
[14:55] Zac: "How much do you want for episodes of XXX"
[14:56] Tempest: I also get "I'd like to contact one of your employees, Tomoki Kyoda, I went to business school with him"
[14:56] Tempest: because again, they think its a catalogue of our properties
[14:56] Tempest: and the staff listed in said properties must be our staff ; (I wish)
[14:56] Zac: Hahahaha
[14:57] Tempest: ANN, producer of every anime & manga known to man, and employer of Osamu Tezuka, Mamoru Oshii, Satoshi Kon and Hayao Miyazaki.
[14:57] Tempest: we ownzers animay!
[14:57] Zac: Hahahahaha
[14:58] Zac: Well hey that'd be cool
[14:58] Zac: Now I can finally make that anime adaptation of Citizen Kane
[14:58] Tempest: think we should give it to Oshii, or Kon ? Kon's been bugging me for a new project...
[14:59] Tempest: Of course, you know he's gonna want to make a big deal out of Kane's dreams.
[14:59] Zac: Hahaha

ANN should license the One Piece movies and have me play Zoro.
Geez, some people are total morons. Why would an anime licensing company call itself Anime News Network?

Hmmmm....the short handed name (ANN) would sound like a good licensing name. But Anime News Network long-handed...I just don't conceive of how much a person could be a moron to actually think that. And I'm pretty sure it isn't a kid because they wouldn't normally even bother asking to do something unless a parent were to have got involved(possibly?)....But still some people just can't figure things out.

It's too bad that Cookie-san no Newsroom got stuck in pre-production hell.

We get a lot of those e-mails, some very clearly aren't kids. Others very clearly are kids.

I could actually see this happening:
Oshii
KANE: Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise. - Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
EVERYONE ELSE: What?
Kon
KANE: Rosebud. [dies]
[Everything else happens in reverse chronological order, with no distinction between imagination and reality, and it is QUITE CONFUSING.]
Miyazaki
KANE: Alas! My own hubris has brought about my downfall!
SPUNKY YOUNG HEROINE: That's right! Also, war is bad. And, uh, save the environment.
Anno
ANNO: I'm sure you just want to see pantyshots of the women that Kane is courting, so I'll throw as much of that into the movie as possible.
FANS: This movie is mindless, fanservice-y otaku dreck ... and yet it is strangely compelling.
ANNO: That's because you're all idiots.

Forget "The Internet's Most Trusted Anime News Source," you should change the subtitle to "We ownzers animay." People are dumb.
Tempest, is this a bad time to complain about all these horrible dub jobs you've been doing?!

This entire thread is proof as to why you should go to the ANN chat and talk like busy bees.

LMAO, that's hilarious, yet somewhat sad. How many do you guys get of these e-mails? And they're actually serious? I'd like to see some of those e-mails.

I do go there sometimes. I just prefer the forums because I don't type that fast and my reaction time is kind of slow.

Well then, fear not. My reaction time is about as slow as my jokes. For the most part, it's pretty quite in there with some chatting once and awhile.
