With the stuff Adult Swim has been putting ads up for lately that's not anime, I think there's a fair chance the rest of Eva could come through with minimal editing at most. It seems they're now very much trying to get that "adult" label for the stuff they show.
Which is good news for anime fans, really, because that can help weaken the stereotype of "anime=cartoon=for kids"...

That line being changed in the Platinum version reminds me of a line that was changed in the dub of the Directors' Cut episodes (the original 2-disc release of the last 6 episodes). In the original dub, Ritsuko says "If she (Asuka) screws this up, she won't be allowed to pilot anymore." In the DC dub, she says "If she screws this up, that batch won't be allowed to pilot anymore." Heh, it'd be awesome if that spliced the DC line into the original animation.

Quicky Question, I'm sure someone stated it at one point
But the verson they are airing on Cartoon Network are just the Normal Verson right? not the Platium. Sure its all said and what not in the edit list but words perplex me sometimes

That's correct. The version that's airing on AS is not the Platinum edition. It seems that the DVD source that Kyle is using for the edit list is the Platinum edition.

Have you watched the Boondocks at all?!?!? If they are able to get away with the stuff they are saying on there I believe they could get away with showing all of Eva with no editing what so ever.

I agree. If the can get away woth what they have been showing in the comedy, surley anime is going, and should get the same treatment.

You'd think that, but U.S. censors are...funny.

Seeing some of these episodes after watching Platinum ...
I could really see the differences, especially seeing "Eva Jitter" for the first time. It's like watching video from a old-style threaded movie projector instead of videotape.
I always wondered if it actually was recorded on projector film to start ... does anyone know if that's the case?

Same with me. I watched the series a long time ago, and never knew what the frame jitter was referring to (hearing mention of them after I watched the show). Now that I've seen the platinum dvds, and am watching the original versions on AS again, I finally know what they were talking about.
And yeah, I don't see Eva being edited too badly at all. If anything they'll just cut out sexual references...'cause, you know...sex is evil.

The only sexual stuff I could imagine being cut out would be the...uh...actual sex. At least the audio for it, since they don't acutally show anything. But who knows with what they get away with on their comedy shows.

Just to repeat what's already been said, this isn't a change. Cartoon Network is airing the original masters (VHS, I assume) and that is the original line. It was later changed for the Platinum version. I don't even know why you listed it. It's not an edit.

Good to know the first two episodes of Evangelion remained untouched. I can't wait to see the rest Eva, and how far [adult swim] has come. (and what their Comedy shows can show)

They'll still leave in the audio. Remember on an episode of Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex when Togusa was looking at a porn video? They left in the audio, but censored the sex from the reflection of his sunglasses.
