Hey everyone,
I was just wondering what you guys are all into right now. When I say 'new', I mean new to you . I'm watching: Hikaru no go: I think this's a pretty decent series, I'm enjoying it a lot. Naruto: I am liking this series more and more. I think if it keeps going the way it is, it might get into my top 10! Really good stuff . Noir: Ok, I've been watching this for a while. I just have the last 4 eps or so to finish. I think it's ok, but it's missing something... But the music rocks. Shaman King: A friend got me to watch this. I haven't really seen enough to know whether I like it or not, but it looks promising (I hear the Manga's better tho). Look forward to seeing what you're all watchin. Cheers, Mike PS. On a diff subject, anyone here watched DNA^2? Is it good? |

I haven't seen all that much in the way of "new" anime since the anime club I attended folded 2 years ago. I rarely download digisubs, and I usually don't buy DVDs "blind" (considering trying Strange Dawn which looks intruiging). Most of what I buy on DVD is old, "back catalogue" stuff that was released on VHS or LaserDisc years and years ago.
In terms of things that are (relatively) "new" to me, right now, I'm really enjoying Fruits Basket, except, unlike most FB fans in North America, I'm referring to the manga, not the anime which I haven't seen on store shelves in Montreal quite yet, but I'm reading the manga in French. Also, I got the 2nd episode of the newer Yokohama Shopping Log (Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou a.k.a. Quiet Country Café) series (4th episode overall) on DVD straight from Japan, but that was bloody expensive (since it's an OVA series, the people that buy the R2 DVDs are paying pretty much 100% of the cost of production). I wrote a not-quite-review, just some of my thoughts in my blog (don't scroll up or down if you're easily offended by opinions...). |

Full Metal Panic: I got started on this one, ran out of eps, and since I'm on 56k couldn't get any more. My friend brought over a majority of the series, and I've started watching it again. Heros of Might and Magic II : I haven't played this game since 7th grade. It's really fun. |

Oh yeah... forgot to give my opinion on D.N.A.^2, which I watched as a fansub at my club some 5 or 6 years ago (never dubbed my own copy).
I think it's a fun little raunchy (but not overtly hentai) romp vaguely spoofing the premise of the Terminator (in terms of someone travelling back through time to change the future) for the first 10-12 episodes, but then the wheels fall off, and it becomes like a lame version of Street Fighter II. Same with the manga (which I have in French), though the manga has Katsura's beautiful art as a saving grace. |

Too vague a premise... it can describe a couple of dozen different series. I'll go out on a limb and say All-Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku, primarily because it's on my mind right now because I really want to get the DVD of the 6 episodes of the original series but I still can't find it at HMV, Metro Video or DVD Passion (haven't tried any of the local comic book stores lately). Or Small Wonder, but, if he specified "anime", I guess that's out of the question. |

Right now all I'm watching are Overman King Gainer, Getbackers, and Gundam SEED. Also, new to me, Rurouni Kenshin. I was never particularly interested in it, but with all the good things I've heard about it, I figured I'd give it a shot since it was coming on Cartoon Network. So far I don't regret never having bought any of it because it's not quite grabbing me like I would have hoped, but it's still fairly entertaining, so I suppose I'll probably keep watching it.

Currently Playing:
Currently in my E: drive: Cowboy Bebop - Got the whole damn thing with the Blooming Bandai promotion. Well worth the money. Love Hina Spring Special - Got it with the Blooming Bandai promotion too. It lacks... something. Tis good, but. Noir - One of my fav series. GreatWhitePawn, I think the only thing it lacks is a major villain. (Unless you consider Chloe the central villain, then [Rest removed to prevent spoilers].) Excel Saga - I think its the second most watched series in my ever expanding collection. Azumanga Daioh (HK Bootleg) - "second most"... Because this is easily the most watched DVD in my collection. (Someone, licence the damn thing already!!!) Currently in my D: drive: Master of Orion 3 - Not for the impatient. The ultimate galactic empire game. Azumanga Daioh Advance demo - Easy once you've learn how to play it. I've already pre-ordered the full game for the GBA. Quake/Tenebrae mod - Quake redone using concepts that will appear in Doom III. A must see if you got the machine that can handle it. Currently in my CD player - Rob Zombie - The Sinister Urge Grand Theft Auto: Vice City OST Vol. 1 - V-Rock |
