Hi,
I'm curious is anyone knows if there is some sort of 25 episode verison of Macross out there. In the beginning, the show was 25 episodes in length, when it was originally broadcast. Later, they added another 11 and rebroadcast it-- this included the 9 episode epilogue and the 2 sort of "extra" episodes in the middle with lots of reused bits from earlier episodes-- Glovals Report and Phantasm (to use the Robotech titles). Basically, I find the show so much better viewed in this 25 episode format. It's tighter, less rambling, and builds to a true climax. Now, _why_ I'd want to watch that version is opinion, but still... I'd think there'd be some sort of "Original Broadcast Version" out there, for those who liked the show best the way it was originally completed and shown. Does anyone know anything about this? And is there any sort of feeling going around that the original version is better, and that the extra 11 episodes are just subpar and pull the show down? Or, am I just being sacreligous to some of you? |

I think the ones you are talking about is the same that AnimEigo fixed up and released on DVD not too long ago. They come in subtitled format with a couple of goodies.
ADD ON: They released up 36. ADV and their very slow hands takes the Macross that was in Robotech. AnimEigo's Macross site It's a good thing I drop by AnimEigo's site becasue I found out they going to release UY Box Set 4 (about time ![]() |
