>People ask if they'll show Monster
>Told if they want to see it on tv they need to buy the box sets to show there is demand.

Am I/the article missing something or was the answer really that, dense? Because that sounds like a contradiction anyway I look at it, especially since if people bought the first set and want to see more they've probably watched it on hulu by now.

The answer to the Monster question sounds like bullshit. If the show is already dubbed, why not recoup some of the investement by selling to whole damn series in home video.

Simply put:their first DVD set of Monster didn't meet the numbers needed to continue putting out the dvd's.sales means everything and if they don't see those sales, then why should Viz continue to put out those dvd's if no one is gonna buy them?

Actually Monster is no longer for sale on any if those. The subonly stream is still up on Hulu, but the dub is not currently available. That's part of the reason the question was asked, as the DVD set is also now out of print, so many were wondering if Viz had let the license expire.

I'm just glad to hear that Toonami is having a ripple effect and showing companies that there are still people who want to watch dubs!

Now that they are available on Pcs I may give them a try. I hope one day I will be able to watch them on a Roku.

Usually DVD presses require a minimum # orders for a print run. If the previous DVD release didn't even sell enough profit to cover the cost of the minimum #, then rather than recouping the investment, they'll be digging themselves a deeper hole just doing another print run.
