I know most of you folks don't give a whit about Astro Boy and other Tezuka stuff, but I just wanted to plug this because I think it's a great article.

Wow. This feels like when 1992 rolled around and there no Gentics War like Star Trek claimed. No Khan either. Odd, huh. (Yes, I could have said 2001 and stuff about Angles causing troble at the South Pole, but Star Trek and Khan is just as cool.
 )

Oh! This is great...I can run down there tomorrow and catch the birthday bash.
I'm a big Kimba fan and I usually keep an eye out for these things, but this one almost got by me. Glad you posted this. What a week! Spirited Away in it's second weekend run, Cowboy Bebop in the movie house this weekend, and now this AstroBoy birthday bash. Can an anime weekend get any better than this! |

Thank you Lord Byronius, that was a very good article. I must confess to being ignorant of a considerable amount of what was presented, although I had read the basic premise of Astroboy before and I appreciated it. It certainly laid the base for what we have come to appeciate in anime today.
