Do we really need another Blood anime so soon? How can they improve on Blood+? It also sounds like the wrong people are making the anime. OK so Production IG are animating it, but is that really it?
I'm not holding my breath on this one. Clamp have proven time and time again that they can't make a story end right.

How could they not? Using Blood+ as a measure of quality is setting the bar incredibly low.

Personally, I'm hoping the end result here is something much closer in style and tone to the original film and some of the manga titles. One thing that always jarred me with Blood+ was how comparatively light and harmless and seemingly skewed towards a younger audience it was when compared to how grim and brutal the earlier Blood material could get, and I hope they go back to that original style. Something akin to the Blood 2002 manga would be especially nice.
Though, given that this Blood-C's manga adaptation is going to be running in a manga anthology that has "Shounen" in the title, I suppose there's no point in holding out hope.

Blood+ was the series that started me down the path to otaku-dom so it will always have a special place in my heart. I'm looking forward to this, for sure. I wonder if this incarnation will involve Saya and other characters from Blood+?

What I really want is a Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Third Gig. Not another vampire-anime! More Tachikoma, less Saya!

Interesting indeed.
Hated Blood+.
Was too watered down and dragged on for FAR too long imo.
Like people have said, we need something darker and more back to routes of the film.
We shall see how this turns out. CLAMP are pretty good with story-telling but also poor at conclusions. Their character designs also aren't to everyones preference.
Either way, certainly one anime to keep an eye on over the summer.

One thing is having poor conclusions, another is having no conclusions whatsoever. Clamp happens to be the latter. But since I.G seems to be the company in control, I'd expect a conclusion.

it's not your style, doesn't mean it's terrible or bad in any way. It did A LOT of things better than most other anime. To me it's one of the best. You have G Gundam listed as masterpiece...I find that hilarious, but I don't go around bashing it.
I do agree with vulcanraven01 that it was dragged out too long...and I agree with maus as well....more GITS would be better...but blood definitively the best vampire series there is

Blood C? So that means it will hold no relation with Blood+ right? I'm looking forward to see Clamp's designs, but I hope they not make characters similar to previous they have made. Am I the only one who found Code Geass' Lelouch similar to X/1999's Kamui in design? Well, it was well made nevertheless.

Don't see any reason to have another original Blood series. Every time you completely redo a story, each individual story just gets even less important, unless they all fit together somehow.
Blood+ could have been better, but overall it was still a decent series.
Blood: TLV could have technically fit into Blood+ due to Saya's amnesiatic nature (if you beleive Blood+), but how will another series fit together unless it's in the future or in the past?

First of all, I don't have any high expectation for this new project.
Secondly, hope that it won't have anything to do with Blood+ (it's Blood-C, isn't it?). I mean, even if Blood+ was kinda dragged on, its end was perfect. Just let Saya sleep man, let her sleep.

I really liked Blood+ and hated the original movie so I hope this new Blood leans more towards the former.

Ugh, was excited until I heard CLAMP was doing the character designs. One of the things that turned me off of Code Geass for a long time was the design that looked like a cartoon.
Blood+ was alright but could have been done in 26 episodes taking out all the filler crap, I liked the character of Hagi (Haji) and I didn't mind Saya about midway through when she actually did something besides whine.
Although I would prefer to see a series that is done like Blood The Last Vampire where it's dark, although it would need more of a story. I know CLAMP will not do this

I'm probably one of the few commenting on this that liked both "Blood:TLV" and "Blood+" -- enough that I'm going to Anime Boston as Julia Silverstein. And one of my favorite mangas happens to be one written by CLAMP (I'm a huge fan of "Chobits" -- shoot me, but I couldn't help crying by the end of it). So I'm actually looking forward to what they have in mind.

Haha! Why shoot you? Is that users from ANN tend to be very aggresive? If so, they better shoot me now as I declare my favorite Clamp series are Tsubasa and xxxHolic
