Pity they can't show the movie dubbed at Anime Expo, since it has one heck of a dub cast.

Probably the best news I've ever heard from Aniplex. I wonder why the Madoka Magica movies weren't dubbed for their theatrical release, but oh well, I care much more about Blue Exorcist. Maybe they'll expand the screenings to Virginia!

Kind of hard to dub a movie and have a theatrical release at nearly the same time as Japan (2nd Madoka movie was October 13th, I saw it in New York one week later)...say what you will about Aniplex but I love that they do these sort of things with movies for the American market. I haven't seen Blue Exorcist yet but I may need to check it out in anticipation for the movie.

At least they're dubbing it. That's good to know. After not dubbing the Gurren Lagann and Madoka movies, I was starting to think they just refused to dub their films altogether.

Juat watch, though. It'll still cost you 40-50 bucks just to own it. Hopefully it'll find its way to Neon Alley eventually.

True, though American animated movies are exported all over the world with dubs the DAY they come out here. I know it's technically not the same thing, but I'm not sure why an anime film always has to come out in Japan before dub production even starts here (it's possible for anime films to be in foreign markets at the same time in different languages...). The recent exception (although it's not a movie) is Gundam UC, which has a dub that's produced as the English-language track on the Japanese Blu-ray.

Hopefully Aniplex still dubs the Madoka films for their domestic (non-import) release here.

Either way, this looks to be a good release. I thought Eleven Arts did a good job getting the Madoka films onto screens.

Now all we need is the DVD and Blu-ray to come out with normal prices, though since this is a movie, it shouldn't be terrible. If it's priced the same as the Gurren Lagann movies, I won't be complaining.

If you're in Chicago, don't bother. The Music Box is a very small independent theater. The sound system is crap and the screen is pretty small.
