I am so cheesed that I'll probably be out of town the weekend that Gusko Budori is playing ... damn you, Father's Day!

Not a good day for it... Ah well, always the Waterloo Festival in the fall again...

Yep - looking forward to that, for sure. Depending on what's playing, I'll probably do the same thing as last year: drive up on the Friday and stay until Sunday night.

I wanted to attend, but it seems they're screening it on the worst days for me....might not be able to make it

If possible, could I please have my first name corrected to Kevin? Anime smile + sweatdrop

As for the screenings themselves, I aim to catch all three films. My work scheduling arrangements should've went through. I'll likely catch a couple of the other live-action films too: several of them intrigue me.

I'm looking forward to Gusko Budori the most. Helter Skelter I feel trepidation for, because while I do appreciate thrillers/"downward spiral to depravity & maddness" films like Black Swan and Perfect Blue, man are they unpleasant to sit through!

My group subbed the RK Live action movie pretty much within 3 days after it's release in Japan. These guys at the JCCC are far too slow to get their act together to show it.

That's a completely stupid observation. First, the JCCC is showing it as part of the Japanese Toronto Film Festival. So the timing is dictated by that. Second, unlike you and your l'il pirate buddies, this is a legitimate showing obtained by getting proper permission.

Nothing illegal by purchasing a legit copy and making your own subs to show others.

Think much?

You will find that the private viewing copy you purchased does not allow you to show it at a film festival with a theatre full of people. Perhaps 5 people in your basement would be OK for a private viewing, no more. To get rights to show it in a theatre you need to negotiate with rights owners, which takes time.

Laughing Do you even understand the concept of "film festival", you moron? It means they are charging people to watch the film, so yeah, showing a scummy, illegal fansub is not an option. I won't bother asking you if you think much because the answer is obvious.
