Well I have some questions about ADV's new Sailor Moon box-set's (The 1st and 2nd series), will they contain the episode's edited out?, will they be uncut or edited (in both language's) and when will they be out. Or does anyone know of a website that has information on them?.

Unedited, subtitled, every episode.

I just hope they sell it as individual disks as well, since, unless the SRP is well below $180 (which seems to be the standard SRP for 26-episode box sets, and these will have more episodes each), I simply will not be able to buy it as one big chunk, since these sets usually end up costing well over $300 Canadian when you take into account both sets of sales taxes. I know I'll end up spending more overall if they do sell it ALSO as individual disks, but the thing is, it won't all be at once, it will be at a pace I can afford. I sent an e-mail to ADV asking if they will also sell it as individual disks, but they haven't replied.

I also e-mailed them to inquire about how they will be handling the release, about two months ago.

They still haven't got back to me. Their online customer service really sucks.

-Genesis Climber Mospeada
-Full Metal Panic
-Let's Dance with Papa ("The strangest show we've ever seen, and that's saying a lot," commented Mr. Greenfield.)
-Neo Ranga (in production)
-Pretear (due this Summer/Fall)
-RahXephon (in production)
-Sailor Moon (subtitled, due this Summer)
-Saint Seiya (in production)

Now we just hope that they don't push it back some more.

Someone is probably gonna shoot me for this, but I'll put it out there.

If ADV (if this is true) is going to actually release the first two seasons completely uncut and in its entirety, and possibly S and SuperS, maybe, there's the very slim chance that they'll actually bother releasing... you know... Stars?

Pionner, not ADV, are the ones bringing S and (eventually) SS to DVD uncut and unedited.

Stars has slight, but fading, chance. Parties in NA are interested, but Toei are the ones with cold feet. No word yet as to "Ami-chan no Hatsukoi" and "the SS Specials" though.

They finished releasing S something like a year ago. Volume 6 of SuperS is due out in about a week. The Encyclopedia says that 6 is supposed to be the last volume, but I'm not sure if that is correct; Pioneer's website is down right now, so I can't look it up very easily, but Google's cache shows that they had a listing for a seventh volume.

"SS" Special, singular, actually. There are indeed three different stories, but they're really just parts 1, 2, and 3 of the same TV special.

...And, believe it or not, there is another short film (like Ami's First Love) that the fans always forget (probably because VKLL didn't fansub it) called "Make Up Sailor Soldiers". So, really, it would be more accurate to say "No word yet on "Ami-chan no Hatsukoi" or "the SS TV Special" or "Make Up Sailor Senshi".

I, personally, think the specials depend on what kind of sales ADV gets from the subs of the first two seasons. Neither DiC or CWI seems interested in them, and I just don't think it would be economical for another uninvolved company to license and release those 80-some minutes of animation by themselves. ADV seems like the most likely candidate to me, but if the Sailor Moon fan community has broken down enough to not make a return on the episodes they're already working on, I doubt they would go one to pursue the specials.

It's kind of a shame really. Even FUNimation was dedicated enough to release the DBZ specials, despite the even more gross repetativeness of that series. -_-

SS will be 7 volumes. Volume 7 will be at half price because it will only have three episodes instead of the usual six, and it will be released May 13th.

So, has ADV announced what the S.R.P. of each boxset will be? I'm not that thrilled about it only being available as a boxset, but, I suppose, if the SRP is more than about $100 or so, I'll just wait 3 months and ask for it for my birthday...

It seems like you hear even less about Sailor V(The series before Sailor Moon that is referanced to quite a bit in Sailor Moon) than Sailor Moon Stars. Why is that?

I'm happy about the first two Sailor Moon series being in a box set from ADV, but I'm wondering when or if Pinoeer will release the box sets of the other Sailor Moon series.

Because Sailor V's manga-only. People find out about the "missing" Sailor V episode of Sailor Moon, which will be in the set, and then jump to the conclusion that it's an entirely different series.

From http://www.animenation.net/news/index.php?id=4732:

Quote:
According to AD Vision, the 46 episode Sailormoon season will retail for $99.98 beginning on July 17th. The 42 episode Sailormoon R season will retail for $149.98.

Why there's such a huge difference in price, especially when the second set is smaller than the first rather than the other way around, I don't know. But there you have it regardless.

Yes, that price is probably right. But bear in mind, the Sailor Moon seasons is almost double the length of most anime TV series.
