I caught wind of this hubbub over Twitter yesterday. I'm glad that they have changed their stance on this matter!
I also wonder how their initial model worked in Paris.

I've gone there for a few years. Basically, there is no reason to leave the convention unless you're done. The hall is outside of the major city, and it's kind of isolated from other businesses or attractions. There's also a central courtyard inside of the convention hall for anybody that feels they need fresh air. The line to get in initially is already pretty damn long, so I assume that if they let people in and out all day then it would only make that congestion worse.
Also, if you spring for one of the "premium tickets", you usually get some kind of re-entry pass.

A "no re-entry" policy seriously reeks of retarded logic. Glad to hear these people actually listened to their fans. Wish more companies and event organizers out there would do the same more often!
