Hahahahaha, this is awesome. I've been folllowing Man-Faye since...the third con? It was right after he became popular. It sucks how they're uptight about his costume when I've seen other people be far more revealing. Like World from Magical Drop 3. Just toilet paper and a pink wig.

But yeah, awesome interview.

OMG... i was having breakfast and you put those awfull pictures... i was about to throw up.

What kind of news is this?.. Halloween is a month and a half ahead. Couldn´t wait until that day to scare the hell out of me with those pictures.

I just got the news that DAI will disolve on sept 30th and you put this clown as the most important news of the day... what is happening to this site?

Sorry if I sound bitter, i just got depressed over the end of my favorite band.

Lighten up a little. It's a fun interview and not meant to be seen as news. I never see anyone complain when other interviews and columns such as Answerman and Shelf Life are posted. They are not news either, they're articles. I'd find ANN rather boring if they didn't add fun and interesting articles every now and then. So just enjoy the article and if it bothers you, then don't read it.

But anyway, I have to agree with Man-Faye. Convention staff and attendees should learn to be more aware and tolerant of cosplayers who are different. As long as all the "unmentionables" are well covered, a cosplayer should be allowed to wear whatever costume they like. Unless there is a specific rule that states along the lines of "Men are not allowed to cosplay as women" or "You cannot cosplay as Tifa if you are over 200lbs", then people shouldn't be descriminated by gender or body shape. Besides - Cosplaying wouldn't be the same without legends like Man-Faye and Sailor Bubba. It's what makes the anime community so unique. Anime smile

Man-Faye, for some reason, is an otaku legend as just about everyone has heard of Man-Faye. The article is a hilarious (and somewhat scary) example of the extremes that otaku will sometimes go to.

People, if you don't want to read about Man-Faye or see the pictures, don't click on the link. It's really that simple.

As for the breakup of DAI, I am also disappointed to hear that bit of news. May I ask, where did you find that tidbit of information?

p.s. this article is just in time for my very own con (NDK) this upcoming weekend. As I'm reading about Man-Faye, I wonder what the cosplayers will bring this year? How many Narutos will there be? Inu Yashas? You gotta give this Man-Faye guy some credit. At least he is somewhat original. Daring, but original.

Well, AX may not like Man-Faye, but there are many other cons out there that don't care what a person wears, just so long as it doesn't break any laws.

Anime Central is famous for thier Crossplaying security guy, Sailor Bubba. Over the years I've seen him as Lime from Saber Marionette and Pretty Sammy. And he's bigger and more harry than Man-Faye. Additionally, Acen even glorifies Bubba by making Bobble-head statues outta him.

You're basically doing he said in the article about AX: discriminating because of the what he is representing. Lighten up and stop being bitches. You don't need to read the article if you dont' want it.

Also why is there 2 topic on this interview?

And who's he bravely striking a civil rights blow for? Hairy guys who crossplay?

Pretty small segment of the population there, and it's not like they can't vote or sit at the front of the bus.

As for the second part of your question, you're right. Talk in the other thread, folks. Locked.
