The degree to which these events will succeed shall depend, I fathom, upon the time it takes for fans to return their attention to Japanese culture amidst the woe of Japanese current affairs.

Wonder why that "Sweet Sixteens" chose to have their event on the same day as one that was already announced a month earlier... some sort of rivalry?

There are pleanty of other days of the year where we don't have other maid cafe events that they could have chosen.

Seems dodgy to me. =/
