I don't just mean clips and radio and the like. Is there any service I can download Japanese music with legally in the States? iTunes has listed a bunch of "Anime" and "J-Pop" artists since August 4, 2005 (the day iTunes debuted in Japan), but there are no songs. Plus, there are no Sony artists on there (Get with it, Sony!). Anyone know when they will get some songs on the iTunes Music Store?

Well, Sony have their own music store which may explain the absence from iTunes. Not used either service, but I expect the connect store would only provide atrak rather than mp3 files.

You can download stuff through iTunes but you have to have a Japanese issue credit card or someone in Japan who can hook you up with some iTunes gift certificates, which rules out nearly anybody outside Japan.

What is this site? A listing of indies?
I'm sorry, but this isn't exactly what I'm looking for.
Well, since it seems like my search for downloadable J-Pop is ending up fruitless, then where can I purchase J-Pop CDs? I already know of Tofu Records and Geneon has a nice supply of anime music CDs. Is there anywhere else?
Thanks for your help so far, everyone.

I would try out YesAsia if you really can't find a way to download music legally. I usually buy my cds from YesAsia or I buy from the iTunes JP shop since my relatives are the ones helping me pay for it
