I was looking to see if Tokyo Project was mentioned in any of Mike Toole's columns since it seemed like something he would mention. It is indeed mentioned in one of his columns, A Column About Nothing, but I almost missed that since the article isn't linked from the anime's page. I was hoping someone could add a link to that article from the anime's page.
Also, there are six news stories linked from the Tokyo Project page, but four of them seem to be about something else that has "Tokyo Project" in its name. I was hoping someone could remove those four links from the anime's page. Those four are the four most recent news articles linked there. |

It currently has a one-way link since the mention in the article is set as a reference to the title, rather than something that the article is about.
The metric I would normally use when coming across an unconfirmed link (the ones that come up in grey) is "would this article be useful/interesting to someone looking at the linked encyclopedia page?" (for an example, if a news article announced for the first time the director or cast of a show, I would make those two-way links, but for every subsequent news article that ran off a list of staff and cast I would set those one-way only). This case is pretty borderline - it doesn't actually add anything useful to the encyclopedia entry. |

Well, in this case, the Mike Toole Show article was exactly what I was looking for when I looked at the Tokyo Project page, so having it linked from the Tokyo Project page would have helped me. I wasn't actually looking for additional information on Tokyo Project in looking for that link, but instead was looking for what Mike Toole thought about it. Even though his column doesn't add any information about Tokyo Project itself, it does tell me what I wanted to know (that being that Mike Toole thinks almost no one watched Tokyo Project and didn't buy it himself). While it was possible for me to find the information I wanted using a search, having it linked from the Tokyo Project page would have made finding the information simpler.
Also, for the example you give of additional news stories listing the cast and staff of an anime, I would definitely want those linked from the anime's page (as long as the anime in question is the main subject of the news story). I think I must be looking at old news stories for different reasons than what you are expecting people to look at them for. I would generally look at old news stories when I'm trying to either add citations to a Wikipedia page, confirm if information on the ANN encyclopedia page is accurate, or find a link to a website that may have origionally supplied information in the encyclopedia (when it wasn't entered in the source field for the information in the encyclopedia). Even if the news story is completely redundant with information in the encyclopedia, I would still want to see it, as either the news story itself or a website linked from it could be a more definitive source than the encyclopedia. I don't see any reason not to link news stories that are specifically about an anime. What I probably wouldn't like to see linked from the encyclopedia is when anime are mentioned just as something else someone worked on, in a news story primarily about another anime. Regardless of all that though, the four news stories I mentioned that I thought should be removed from being linked from Tokyo Project have nothing to do with the Tokyo Project anime (as far as I can tell), so regardless of what criteria are used for linking stories I think those four links should be removed. |

Pending input from other staff I've confirmed the link. I've also cleamed up the greylinks.
For a specific example of what I mean, we had a slew of Vividred articles for the slew of promo videos they released. Each one has something to the effect of "As previously revealed...." at the bottom summarising information from previous articles and naming known cast and staff. I don't believe that every one of those articles need be linked to from all of those people, since it is just re-iterating something that was already revealed. |

Allow me to quote Dan's words:
In this specific case, while the cover art of Tokyo Project is distinctively more prominent than any other anime title mentioned in the article, it is hardly what the article is about. That is, if you take out all sentences containing "Tokyo Project" from the text i.e. starting from "If nothing else, without John Sirabella,,," to "... but I didn't buy this," the article is still perfectly readable, just with less content. On the other hand, I do agree with Calathan that this specific article of Mike's would intrigue whoever visiting the Encyclopedia page of Tokyo Project. It's kind of a dilemma. |

Thank you for cleaning up the news links (though I think you missed one of them) and adding the link to the Mike Toole article.

Either I missed a link or it didn't "take"; that's fixed now.
