if they don't release on 13 episode sets i will be annoyed. but it wouldn't be aniplex if they didn't gouge the hell out of us.

I'm pretty certain 4 episodes per volume at $70 each is a safe bet here, like DOKES'. They know people will pay, and it will more than cover the cost for a dub and marketing/promotion. I could also very well see it being done like the Bakemono set as well, two installments at $180+ each. 13 episodes for $90? Nope.

I woulda been surprised it wasn't dubbed.

I'm gonna guess this'll be about 200 bucks total.

It only took one post before it began this time!

Well, let's all enjoy watching this thread speed its way to 10 pages over the next 48-72 hours before people start getting reprimanded and there's an official word telling everyone to discuss the news, and not Aniplex's pricing strategies.

I may or may not be buying this. Depends on the release format but SAO was not a show that kept my interest significantly enough to buy it no matter what.

Might only buy the first half (the Aincrad arc) because dammit. I hate Fairy Dance so much, I could be a literal sun with my rage brought about of that arc.

I'm anticipating news on Blast of Tempest's release more than...this.

With the Fate/Zero dub on Neon Alley, this is the dream match for the new anchor on Toonami.

Nice to see that Mikunopolis is going to be out before the second anniversary of that 2011 concert, even if Miku's hit-list has moved well past "World Is Mine" and "Popipo" at this point. I'm still buying it.

BD+CD bundle is interesting though. No DVD.

Okay, I don't watch this, but who's willing to bet Bang Zoom will be handling this like the rest of Aniplex of America's dubbed anime?

Well...

Only when they release the complete box set. I will also accept if the series is split in half, one box with Aincrad and the other Alfheim.

No, I'm going to be watching this thread very closely for the next few hours. If it starts looking like another succession of diatribes about Aniplex pricing then I'll slam down on it after only a couple of pages. Really, any complaints should, at the least, be held off until we see what the actual pricing will be. It hasn't even been solicited yet, after all.

And besides, it's entirely possible that SAO will go the PMMM route instead. SAO was the year's biggest title, after all.

And to address another poster: Yeah, I'd also love to see this one air on Adult Swim, and I agree that it would be a good fit. Heck, I wouldn't mind seeing either of these on Adult Swim.

The main thing I can see against this airing on Toonami is .hack//SIGN. SIGN was aired on Toonami (when it was earlier on Saturdays), and, while the two were initially written around the same time, SAO is going to come across as a .hack clone to a lot of people.

Now i have full 8 disc sets from geneon, and the entire E7 SE set, but i just hope the prices are around that 200$ mark for everything i'll be happy. As long as it isn't the F/0 price point. (prays for a real domestic release)

nice to see another anime getting dubbed, but honestly I Seriously do not look forward to the arguments of the price gouging to painful heights and the arguments Rationalizing purchasing said DVDs. that said those who want to buy them go ahead and those who don't it's all gravy here as well, I just still can't fathom how someone could spend well over 70 dollars let alone 100 - 300+ dollars for One DVD set instead of multiple

There is no price announcement in this news item, which means price discussion is completely off-topic and will be heavily moderated and controlled. Period.
