Wait. Funimation has to cancel their 360p stream, but France can keep it's FREE 1080p going?
What bullshit.
I think the theories about English subtitles possibly being put on the JP DVD or BDs being the reason for the US stream getting yanked are starting to sound a little more realistic.

Funimation needs to leave the Fractale people alone they're CRAZY!
So France can keep simulcasting but Funimation can't? What kind of sense does that make?!

Wait, so not only is the Fractale Production Committee making Funimation do all the hard work at pulling every unauthorized stream but the French, who could theoretically be the source for where subbers are getting their streams, can continue?
...I want to move to France now, clearly whoever is in their industry has mad skills in making the Japanese see sense and they get tons of good releases.

... and the best part is that Funi will not sue FPC because they are afraid to set a bad precedent with the japanese. NEWS FLASH, this whole deal is already as bad a precedent as can be and it was a 100% the idea of some yet unknows japanese executive!!! Sue and make him take resposibility for his idea (a simulcast of him commiting harakiri would be an added bonus).

There's no way that hasn't already happened.
BTW, the Fractale twitter didn't respond to fan complaints

A popular torrent hub has 22 torrents for Fractale episode 1. Two of these are direct rips of FUNimation's stream, and between them have clocked over 17000 downloads. On the same tracker, the single most popular Fractale file at over 18000 is a fansub, based on a 720p raw and their own translated script - i.e. FUNi had nothing to do with it. One of the raw unsubbed files on the tracker has itself hit 12000 downloads.
If the news article is correct about the French streams being 1080p, then these haven't been uploaded to any of the trackers I've looked at - the only 1080p file I've seen is a transport stream rip which at nearly 3GB clearly came from a Japanese HD broadcast, not a streaming site.

Okay, I think we can now safely call shenanigans.
Maybe some otaku should rally behind Funimation by purchasing a bunch of stuff from Funimation (to make up for the money they lost when Production Committee essentially ripped them off), while... okay, I don't know how we can stick it to the Production Committee in a legal fashion. Any suggestions?

geez man so unreasonable, but i also think KoH's reasoning on why they are targetting FUNI only is correct.
Surely they know this will hurt International relations right. It wont be easy to commit to new Simulcasts' now.

Wow. Just...wow. Bravo, FPC.
'Mind boggling' is not a strong enough statement of how I feel about this entire situation. France can keep their simulcasting despite FUNi having to pull their simulcast? Surely there are French fansubbers? Please, someone let me know the logic.

WTF???? France gets 1080p streams for FREE!!!!!?
What kind of bs is that? And they rent 1080p streams for just over a $1? Why can't America get deals like that?
Who's France blowing?
Urahara Out!!
P.S.If I didn't know better, I'd say there's a faint smell of troll in the air!!

Wow. How in the world do you find this stuff out ?
And even if they weren't getting it from French streams, like someone said before, won't they just do it now? I mean I was always under the impression that they (the people i guess who do the illegal subbing/posting and what have you) get the stuff where ever and how ever they can. Sure, maybe it was easier to get it through Funi but it's not like thats really gonna stop too many people. And how much easier really was it to get it that way? And I guess the subber who didn't get it from Funi's stream got it from a RAW or something right? Won't more people download fansubs now since they can't watch it through Funi's I mean I guess I understand asking Funi to try to remove as many vids as they can, but it seems like punishment to me at least from what i've gathered (which probably isn't much) to ask them to stop streaming it.
And if it's coming from a Japanese broadcast, why is Funi the only one who's getting the heat? And does anyone know exactly why it is that the french still get to stream? Is it really because no one is really uploading them and if so does that mean they might eventually lose their streams and we might not be getting ours back?
I don't know 100% whats really going on because everytime I try to understand I get thrown for a loop again, but like someone above said, this all just really isn't fair

The only way them leaving France's streams alone makes sense is if they believe the Hadopi law is actually doing something, which it isn't because people just use proxies and VPNs to circumvent the flawed legislation (cause laws following baseball rules always work).
And that's stretching it a bit to be completely honest, cause there is no real way to make sense of something as illogical as their decision.
