Does anyone know the amount of subscribers Otaku Usa has or at least a close estimate?I was wondering because they are the only Anime mag left besides the newly founded Senpai Magazine and i was wondering if sales were strong because they have been in buissness for almost 4 years now.

Im not to sure on the actual numbers, but I'm sure you could find out. I don't think Patrick Macias would be all that secretive about the numbers. But I think they are doing some what well, I mean well enough to stay in business and, from what I hear, actually pay their writers. Also I think I remember Patrick M or Daryl Surat mentioning once that they are profitable enough that they don't have any worries about going out of print any time soon.

I think their success might stem from their business design and their fan base. Otaku USA, unlike other now defunct magazines, seem to understand their limits and dont over extend themselves. I feel like they are able to keep cost pretty low. Also their reviewers and set up seems to direct themselves at an older and more seasoned Otaku. Their target audience is one that has the extra money to spend, and is fine with spending it on something like an anime mag. By contrast, allot of the other mags tried to appeal to the new young fans that didn't have much income and are often less willing to spend.

Fear not; it seems to be the side affect of ordinary technical business. For the time being their website shows just the logo and a subscription offer with the following message:

Quote:

Hey! Where's all the cool stuff?

We're doing some technical stuff with our servers. Like relocating them. But we'll be back soon. In the meantime you can still save 50% off Otaku by subscribing below. And if you're already a subscriber, you can manage your account information over there on the right.

So it's just a temporary inconvenience and nothing to worry about.
