There was that series where the IM@S girls were controlling mechs... I forgot what it was called as I'm trying to forget the whole thing.
If this sticks closer to what the game was about it could stand a better chance. At least use a few tracks from the game.

I'm probably one of the very few people who actually enjoyed the Xenoglossia series. Considering it's never made it over here yet, it probably never will. It will be interesting to see what this new series will be about.

It sounds like they're trying to do a more realistic series this time (so far). An "Idol producing" show could be alot of fun.
And for the record, I liked Xenoglossia.

Great! A proper Idolmaster anime. I hope the casts of the other Idolmaster games make an appearance as well.

Of course I had to do a double take on this considering that there was a series that ran some time ago. I guess they want to really market it this time. I'm surprised they haven't done anymore games. I'll have to check out the game play sometime. I'll be curious to see how the new series is presented.

The gameplay is all over Youtube. Too bad the anime is not about that.
Japanese otaku are already campaigning against the boy band in Idolm@ster 2 and that they want their girls back.
Microsoft probably wouldn't want it here.

Actually that campaign is over and those people who organize it have decided to buy the game anyway.

I've always been a big sucker for this series in the form of its rampant fanart since I love the girls' designs so much, so I'm all for this anime.
I have a special weak spot for the tomboy Makoto, so I'm especially excited to see and hear her when this show gets on the road.

Yay! I am so happy IM@S is finally getting a proper anime! No offense to Xenoglossia fans, but that isn't what a lot of us IM@S fans wanted for an anime.

It should be about what it was supposed to be about in the first place -- idols trying to make it big! Man I was upset about Xenoglossia, just because I'm such a big fan of the actual games. It wasn't even the same voice actresses, which was my biggest beef with it. Thankfully this one has carried everyone over from the games!

It just seemed such weird reasoning to take something with a built-in premise and radically twist it around with Xenoglossia. You have a franchise based around cute girls in cute outfits singing cute songs, and you put them in mechs? Wut?
This game series has 'shoujo' written all over it, probably in glitter!

Actually is very not shoujo. The game series was aimed at guys, entirely. The only hint of aiming at girls was the new game that has the boy band characters in it.
The game is about a guy (the player) raising cute idols into super stars. Lots of moe involved. There is also some teaching of the girls about the real world which has involved you poking them for some reason. Someone else can maybe elaborate.

^ Yeah I know, I've played Perfect Sun on PSP; it just felt like one of those games you have to try. To me it just seemed tooth-threateningly cute, and the sort of game young girls would enjoy. Although of course, like you said, plenty of guys like this too.

The online store of the publisher Gakken posted the cover of Megami Magazine's March issue (since taken down) that reveals that this will be a television anime, as opposed to a video anime.
