I've seen a bunch of Rio figures out there, I've always wondered where she came from. I guess I should have known it would be something like this.

So... she's a dealer who always wins? Why would people keep coming to her then?

I can think of two rather prominent reasons, judging from that commercial...

I still remember the surge of popularity the character saw in the early 00's - interesting to see an anime start just now.
I mean, yeah, it doesn't look too great (at least they appear to have a pretty good budget), but it admittedly has novelty appeal.

A gambling anime? Sounds kind of interesting actually.

I'll check out the first few episodes, just to see what it's about(I doubt it's all about gambling).
I know Xebec is the one animating it. Which their shows over the past few years have kept me interested(MM!, Ladies vs. Butlers, To Love-Ru & Kanokon). Although those all came from light novel/manga backgrounds, not some games. So I'm somewhat unsure about this one.

That was about as compelling as I expected. I'm not sure if I expected the combat maid or Rio's wedding dress being ripped off less.

I don't mind the ecchi, but get that kid out of here. Kids get snatched up if they are on the casino floor. They have designated areas for children. Ridiculous.

Looks more like a fanservice anime. There was a time when anime could be about unconventional things like: go, circus, figure skating, baking, acting, art and even gambling, while holding the viewers interest with sympathetic characters and strong relation to the theme without resorting to smug. I'll check out the first episode, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I checked out the official homepage of the show and I found out that the kid's name is "Mint Crack". LMAO!
