Yeah, the scary thing is that this could be true. Granted, the pop stars who for some reason who have recently felt the need to become animated characters (t.A.T.u., Puffy, Courtney Love) are considerably more popular than Ms. Gibson, but given the quality of many shows airing on television, it seems studios are growing increasingly desperate for ideas. Its funny how american studios are desperate to imitate anime in general with Teen Titans, Total Spies, and Hi Hi puffy..

My brother likes Teen Titians..its pretty painful to watch just like Hi Hi Puffy..what is the plot to Hi Hi anyway?

If american studios and people could recognize that anime spans all age groups and generes instead of limiting it to kids like american animation we could have alot more great anime series running in the states.

I'd be interested to see a show of hands: how many of you are old enough to remember Debbie Gibson? I remember her as being the subject of a song by Mojo Nixon: "Debbie Gibson Is Pregnant with My Two-Headed Love Child".

Yeah, those were the days. Cool

That's not old enough. I remember the time she was in Ghostbusters where ghosts crashed her birthday party.

BTW, did anyone here pick up the Playboy issue with her on it?

Debbie Gibson still has a music career!?!?
If anyone should be making a comeback it should be MC Hammer and his magic shoes. His cartoon show rocked the HOUSE! Laughing
I guess Debbie Gibson doing a voice of an anime teen pop idol fits. Either way I'm not watching.

Hey, I remember her and I'm only 21... well, in a week, anyway. I'm not that old... am I?

Wow, she's cute there, in an anime-manga sort of way. The fanboys will go nuts.

I have her albums on casette and saw her in concert! (Great concert, by the way.) But she was in Ghostbusters as well as Playboy? I really gotta see. Ghostbusters I mean. Razz I didn't believe the Playboy bit was true... <sigh>

By that "promotional art" and tag line, it seems her power is primarily electricity?

Damn, almost makes me wish it was real just so I could see Cartoon Network pull some delightfully lame "Pop Fighter & Static Shock Hour of Power." Laughing

Wow! That would be awesome. I dream of the day Black Lightning and Dazzler would hog thier own hour on Cartoon Network even though everything about them is different.

Sorry, but only true comic book junkies will even get this.

If only it weren't an April Fools' joke . . .

I like Ms. Gibson's songs and I wouldn't mind watching this . . .

. . . if it were true.
