Way to be a pessimist there. I'm not worried, as Viz rarely cancels a series. Let's not forget that the reason companies cancel series in the first place is because no one buys them.

I really enjoy this title. The art in it is so pretty.
It's a monthly title though, I'm imagining a lot of people asking why it is taking so long to come out.

HELL YES!!!
Seconded! Jump SQ is so much better than Weekly Jump right now, so I want Viz to bring more of their titles over, and Blue Exorcist is the one I wanted most!!!

Well, its Shonen Jump, so I'll give it a try. I've only ever seen one Shonen Jump manga I didn't like, but thats another story.

The best part of Ao no Exorcist is definitely the art. The art is so detailed and un-Shonen Jump like. The story is also very pleasing to read. It's almost like a mix between Harry Potter and D.Gray-man.

Can't believe one of my actual license-wishes came true. Gonna have to go for this one, definitely.

Nice! Hope we keep seeing more Jump Square titles. Dark Horse picked up Nightow's Jump Square comic last week. I wonder if VIZ'll use Square branding, or stick with the current system? I'm guessing regular, since Genkaku Picasso and Rosario+Vampire II are coming under the standard lines.
I'd love to see Embalming- I liked the shorts from Buso Renkin.

*fangasms* Thank you Viz! Finally, some of the series I've been holding my breathe for are making it's way to the US. *goes to cross Ao no Exorcist off of licensing wishlist*
Amanchu next, pretty please?

Huh, seems a lot people were waiting for this to be licensed, maybe I should give it a try as well. The description in the article doesn't make it seem particularly appealing though, is there more to the series?

Quote: | This world consists of two dimensions joined as one, like a mirror. The first is the world in which the humans live, Assiah. The other is the world of demons, Gehenna. Ordinarily, travel between the two, and indeed any kind of contact between the two, is impossible.
However the demons can pass over into this world by possessing anything that exist within it.
Satan is the god of demons; but there's one thing that he doesn't have, and that's a substance in the human world that is powerful enough to contain him!!
For that purpose he created Rin, his son from a human woman, but will his son agree to his plans? Or will he become something else...? An exorcist? |
That's the synopsis provided by the scanlators.
Blue Exorcist is a pretty intriguing series. Lots of Biblical references in it.
