I am. Think it will sell? An upscale of a nine year old show that's too pricey for most to even consider...

I'm passing. Don't get the wrong idea, I like the series- but that's a lot of money to plunk down for something I already own. I'd have to like it a LOT more to justify it. (plus, my OAV DVD is autographed by Hideki Kurata, so I have to keep it!)

Lol. Only if I can find it at my local Cash Converters pawn shop for...maybe $30.

I'm not because I'd rather get the DVD book since I hear the BD isn't anything special and it is pretty expensive (no matter how you cut it, $160 is a lot of money). I do have to think, though, if it was something I actually wanted, would I do it? If it were the Cardcaptor Sakura Blu-rays, then hell yea I would, but that's about the only example I can think of.

Nope, I already have it on DVD, and I don't plan on upgrading to Blu-Ray anytime soon. Plus like people said, even if it is less than $160 it is a bit expensive for what you get.

I already have the DVDs for the entire series, and while I may have bought the OAVs on blu-ray (at a non-ridiculous price), I don't like the TV series enough to double dip.

Looks like it's about $110~150 to pick up the DVD set depending on what collection you want (standard artbox vs book) I think I remember the book being able to hold the OVA too... I passed on this years ago because I was obsessed with getting Last Exile (LOL). Might as well spend that extra $10, give Aniplex some cash instead of random vendor dude, and get yourself a nice Japanese replica with a booklet if you haven't already purchased it. But yeah, I would never double dip for this.

Haha yeah $160 is a lot, but those are like a mortgage payment.

I'll pass on account that I already own both the TV series and the OAV series on DVD.

The price they want for it is absolutely ridiculous! I'd pick it up for NO more than $50

For that much? No way. It costs too much to justify it being on Blu-ray. I bought all of the TV series on DVD (plus the special boxes) for $4.00 per single through TRSI's Geneon sale (25 for $100.00 or 10 for $50.00). This was back when Geneon was still in the market.

It depends on how nice the upscale is. It's a great series and I wouldn't mind picking it up again as long as the upgrade in quality is worth it. I spent about that much getting the dvds when they first came out.

I want this sooooo bad. But an msrp of 199.99?? Even 160 is insane. Does Aniplex think this is the JP market or what? I know the JP still paid a lot more for theirs, but this is ridiculous.

I also own both the OVA and the Geneon singles for the TV show and am definitely not double-dipping at this price. I might have been interested in the OVA if it was a big improvement since I like that a lot but replacing the TV series is a non-starter for me since I did not like it that much.

I went to the Aniplex panel at NYAF because I wanted to see if the whole Aniplex USA thing was going to be Bandai Visual USA redux, this release seems to answer that question.
