As it is right now, the style of numbering is inconsistent, with the episodic staff credits listed one way and the episode listing and most of the episodic cast credits listed another way. I think it would be best to decide on one way to keep this consistent and minimize confusion.

The official website lists each half-of-broadcast segment as an episode, so the two segments from the recent broadcast would be "3" and "4", and not "2A" and "2B".

While Crunchyroll does refer to each broadcast as a single episode, and thus the latest is labeled "Episode 2", they actually do number the segments as ("3:" and "4:") in their description for the "episode".

I would prefer numbering them the way they are given on the official site, but since they are combined for broadcast (and have combined ending credits for each pair), I can see why on the other style of numbering. What would be the best way for this?

For my money, we should go by what's on the official site. Editing those precisions would be a pain. Razz I guessing Crunchyroll isn't splitting them up because you're supposed to watch one right after the other. However them acknowledging the official numbering is probably on orders from the JP company.

While each pair of "episodes" has a single credit run, the secondary cast and main staff for each episode are credited separately.
I'm sure we've had other series with double episodes played back-to-back, but I can't remember any off the top of my head.

What about Ichigo 100%? I've not seen it, but didn't the TV series run two half-episodes back-to-back?

I've remember the example I was trying to think of - Fumoffu had a mix of full and half-length episodes, complicated by two half-episodes not being aired.
In this case thought they are given as A and B parts on the official site
