Well a live-action SaiKano movie does sound intersting.

I agree.
And of course it's going to have a lot of CG in it. How else are they going to be able to do Chise's tranformations?
I bet the author Shin Takahashi never thought that his story would ever go this far.
Seven volumes, a 13 ep. TV series, a 2-part OVA and now a live action movie? That's pretty damn good.

Oh, that's so cool! I hope it looks really good. And Aki Maeda is playing in it. I love her in Battle Royale! *blocks out Battle Royale II* As my boyfriend would say, "She's so cute!"

I think 2 hours for Saikano is about right. It was stretched too thin in the TV series.

Might the actor actually be Kubozuka Yousuke, of "Ping-Pong", "Go", and "Ikebukuro West Gate Park" fame? He's a bit old now to play a high schooler, but definitely could pull off what could be a very emotionally challenging role. He's seriously one of Japan's most talented young actors.
But, like all anime/manga -> live action adaptations, this could either be really good (Ping-Pong) or REALLY, REALLY bad. Haven't seen Blister, but it's apparently a pretty decent drama/comedy about otaku. There may be hope.

I don't think I've ever seen a live action movie. I'd like to see the CG effects. I think I've heard something about a live action Gundam movie. Was that ever released, or was it just a rumor?

Yup.
I don't know why, but it seems that both are accepted way to write his name. I think perhaps "Kubozuka Yousuke" was a pseudonym.
He's 26 now I believe.

No, Kubozuka Shunsuke is the younger brother of Kubozuka Yousuke.
