The worst DVD case I've ever encountered is Peacemaker Kurogane Vol. 3.

I don't know if anyone else out there has had a case similar to this where it has six of those really tiny prongs and are a real hassle to undo, but after finally getting this DVD out I noticed the case was SO bad that it partially ripped some of the skin between my finger and nail.

I honestly don't want this to happen every time I watch anime. Surprisingly, Azumanga Daioh Vol. 1 has the same exact case design, yet I was able to open it with ease.

I'm not trying to shift blame here, but shame on you ADV for partially seperating my finger from my nail Evil or Very Mad (that doesn't grow back, you know):

Any tips or similiar complaints about these types of cases?

Yeah, I think that's it. I've never had problems with them either until this particular DVD. It didn't quite rip my skin from my nail, but it did tear a little bit of that "other skin" that connects the nail to the tip of the finger, so no permanent damage done Anime smallmouth (whew).

I can't even get the DVD out by just pressing the middle and gently lifting it off the prongs. I don't think they use these all the time. My Eva Platinum Vol. 1 is the three-pronged holder, which easily opens up after simply pushing the middle of where they meet. Oh well, no real damage done, I guess..

Well its not anime but here's my nomination for the worst DVD case ever.

Total Recall: Special Edition. It came in a stupid round tin shaped like Mars. I always put on my shelf next to my other DVDs but it would just roll over and wake me up at night.

I have a few cases from Media Blasters that is like that.

Their three-DVD cases with those knobs are really a pain. You have to remove one DVD to get to another DVD, then remove the DVD again to replace the DVD you just watched back into the case.

Despite the hassles, they are pretty reliable. I have a few two- and three-DVD cases that have the extra DVD "flaps" in the middle that prove too easy to break off.
