I've noticed that some Encyclopedia entries has ratings in them when they aren't even out yet (e.g. #8423 Rebuild of Evangelion: Final).
Although not a big issue, it is problematic to the ratings system (esp. to things with low viewership) when people rate them in any form when its not even out yet. My suggestion is that new entries in the encyclopedia about anime/manga etc. should have ratings removed until the actual date of an opening or a trailer or something tangible comes out. This would help the ratings system from having redundant entries (i.e. #8423 being 5th most diverging in opinion) as it may cause confusion to those looking over the ratings page. |

It's an old issue (people have complained it for five years or so) but I don't think it can be solved without a major overhaul.

There are two problems with your suggestion:
1) it prevents people from rating anime/manga which have been released but for which a release date has not been entered. 2) it prevents us from telling apart spammers from non-spammers |
