Check out the previews on the DB Kai or Eva Blu-ray. It plays back in 1080p and looks absolutely stunning. There's no way in hell a DVD could look that good (it's also pushing 20+ mbps) So yeah, me thinks I'll hold off on buying Soul Eater for a lil bit longer.

I fully expect a blu-ray release of Soul Eater.

And you know what? Chances are good that I'll double-dip on it.

You know why? Because I am a sucker.

I wouldn't blame ya. The show is fanf*ckingtastic. I've just been sidetracked by so much other stuff, I have yet to pay back my fansub debt.

There's no Japanese BD release of it yet, so it's probably more like the rights holders hiding the HD masters from Funi.

You think there is a Blu-Ray version of Soul Eater?

Fool!

My story starts in the 1930s. Times were hard, and...

{blah, blah, blah}

{insert dance number here}

Did you forget stipulation #667? Always agree with Exclalibur!

EXcaliburrrr. ExCALiburrr!

I really hope they do a BluRay of Soul Eater. I need to pay back my fansub debt too, but I can't afford double dipping, and I just assumed there would be a BluRay of this eventually.

I really hope there is a blu ray. It's the only thing holding me back from buying this series.

Gotta get Japan to release the BluRay first, then wait a year or two, and then a BluRay can come out in the States.

And I don't think Soul Eater did well enough in Japan for a BluRay release, though I could be wrong.

I suspect we may never get a real HD release of Soul Eater, but Funimation is bound to release an upscale eventually. Razz

Nooo watch the trailer and then reply. If HD masters aren't available then it's the most beautiful upscale I've ever seen.

It might be an issue with rights, frankly im not sure.

I would assume Funimation would release it on Blu-ray if they had the rights to do so, but that might also create a wave of reverse importation considering it has no Blu-ray release in Japan.
