NARUTOCON 2005

July 29th - 31st @ Pasadena Convention Center
www.narutocon.org

Pre-reg (all 3 days): $30

What is NarutoCon you ask? It speaks for itself, but doesn't at the same time... This is an anime convention in the United States centered on the popular anime/manga Naruto. During the past few year, this work of art by Kishimoto Masashi became a definite hit amongst anime fans, and NON-anime fans. This convention is build by the fans of Naruto for the fans of Naruto, but also a little bit for everyone else. Conventions of similar kind happens all the time in Japan... even as specific as a convention for a specific pairing, eg ed x winry con or something like that. Building on the same idea, we want to expand on those mini cons ideas into a 3 days convention packed with everything a fan can dream of.

Below are a list of things we have planned. Please take a look and leave comments. This is a convention for you guys, please help us make it great! Anime exclamation

-Naruto fanfiction / fanart contest.
-AMV
-Masquerade Part I (cosplay contest for non-naruto characters)
-.. ... ... .. . Part II ( Naruto universe only, crossovers are welcome)
-Ninja Auction (enter yourself or your friends for the ninja auction!! Rules of the auction is not solid, we're now in the process of polling and revising it. We want your input!!!)
- Random Ninjas Concert ( www.randomninjas.com )
-N-con Dance (Professional DJ mixing all your fav n-tunes and anime themes)
-Fan panels (anything is welcome, even things not naruto-related... but of course naruto-related topics are highly recommended )
-Artist Alley
-Dealer's hall
-Ramen eating contest
-cosplay photoshoots with konoha background (well... yes... we'll try out best ^^)
-trivia contest
-Unofficial Naruto on Ice (no, you did not read that wrong)
-POT vs. Naruto cosplay gathering (there is a tennis court 2 inches away from the convention.....it's begging for it to happen)

above are just some of the stuff that are gonna be happening (because i dun remember all the stuff )

Since we're doing this non-profitly, we need a great deal of fundraising support, please DO come to our fundraisers that are gonna be happening periodically. It's a lot of fun, and you always get food! http://www.narutocon.org/fundraisers.html Also, most of our fundrasiers are not naruto-related, they are cosplay / social gatherings for everyone. So please don't feel left out if you are not a fan of naruto, chances are... a lot of people there aren't

Please provide us with positive inputs or contructive critisim! It's our first year, but we have a great amount of staff currently making this a reality for all. Thank you very very much everyone for your support.

If memory serves, you haven't even gotten your down payment money for the location, let alone the money for the rest of it

If I'm wrong I apologize, but I've seen too many people announce cons that they don't have dime one to run

$40 at the door? Kinda high isn't it? I don't think I'd be willing to spend more than $15 on a first time, series specific con.

If it wasnt as far as it is...I would try to help with equipment, since we do that down here for the local clubs and group events. heck we will caravan to Atlanta to help Momocon...if there is anything we can do...besides send you anime let me know

I can help you get connected to some of the anime and manga companies to help sponsor you...but they may be hard since it is the first year...I have been there before.

I think they are really expecting too much for this con. It's after Anime Expo later in the month also. With no dealers and only a band that not many people heard of as their guest as of now, it really doesn't seem appealing. They might as well just pay for a booth at the Matsuri Festival at AX2005 and do whatever they want there and have their little ice staking event at Disney Ice with the NHL season being cancelled and all.

To me, it's no different from Ani-Magic here in California. It's just an event to gather all sorts of fans and nothing else beyond that.
