The current translation of the original Edelweiss game is simply awful, to the point where they are currently redoing the script and plan to release it as a patch in the near future, however this will likely be after the release of Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia.

From the staff blog, by one of the translators.

Quote:
The script for the original Edelweiss is currently being reworked now. We intend to distribute a patch for all those who currently own or purchase the game during this process so the Edelweiss and Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia bundle will not be delayed as a result of this new development.

The actual game is quite good, but it is probably worth waiting on the fixed script before playing it.

KiraKira is one of the best visual novels to be release in English (fan translated or commercially), and is a steal at those sale prices, especially the all ages price.

KiraKira is a really fun story, I played the full version, but I think you would get 95% or more of the full game in the all ages version. For the price listed, I will probably get the all ages version to see what is different.

Edelweiss, despite its translation, had interesting characters and pretty good stories in most all of the paths. I am looking forward to the expansion.

I have been impressed with Mangagamer recently.

For what it was, Cosplay Alien did not disappoint.

Higurashi, initially I was a bit put off by it not being voiced and those odd hands on the cutout chars? As I played on, I really got into the story. It is almost as chilling as the Anime, which is surprising because it just has background art, cut out chars, background music, sound effects and text to work with. Through almost the first three question arcs, I find there is a lot more information and hints to go on than the anime gave at the same point (though for me, a rewatch of the anime might be in order). This game is LONG.

For those of you who have been waiting to purchase until say the prices dropped, now is your time to do such a thing.

You no longer have excuses... Even if you don't like/aren't familiar with visual novels, you still have no excuse to not buy one.

Or at the very least give the KiraKira free demo a try, it has a several hours worth of gameplay and gives a great idea of what the VN is like.

The sale is on, purchased KiraKira All Ages, and Da Capo.
Half price on Da Capo, was too good to pass up.

But I will probably do KiraKira first to see how it differs from the full version. I suspect very little, I think the true joy and point of all the paths could easily be expressed without the sex.

As Dan888 noted, the demo for KiraKira is about half the game, and well worth trying, but at the all ages price, you might as well dive in, I doubt you will be disappointed.
