There are two (really existing) companies with the name イマジン:
IMAGINE (#895, イマジン, 32 credits) = IMAGINE Co.,Ltd. (music company, since 1986-01-11, Wikipedia page, http://www.imagine-music.co.jp/) IMAGIN (#482, イマジン, 32 credits) = IMAGIN Co.,Ltd (animation company, since 1992-06-15, Wikipedia page, http://www.imagin-do.co.jp/). Both got a lot of credit entries at ANN, and they are apparently mixed up frequently by all kinds of contributors (U.S. DVD covers as well as kanji sources due to the identical company name; I added the Japanese name for both companies so that kanji contributors will at least be aware of the ambiguity). It's easy to tell apart Music Co-Production from In-Between Animation so I tried to error-flag the apparently wrong credit entries accordingly (but didn't add the other company yet for these credits, I'll do that if I get an okay here from some encyclopedist); there are a few credits for "Production" or "Production Cooperation" that might refer to animation production or music production which is hard to check due to the identical katakana notation of the company name. Any spell-checking/string matching logic is not only a lost cause here but even making things worse by prioritizing one company over the other one. Is there any chance for the submit process to automatically check whether the type of credit (visual vs. aural) is a plausible choice for either of these companies? |
