So, is the movie possibly licensed, then? Because I would so totally buy it.

Hosoda coming to MIT actually has nothing to do with whether the film is licensed or not.

I realize that, but I was hoping that since they've got subtitles for the film that it would be getting an international release.

Anyone have any clue what time during the day this will be? Thankfully I live in Boston for school and can only hope it's not gonna be happening while I'm at work.

Well it's been licenced here so I assume someone in the USA will pick it up.
BTW the subs have existed since it came out in japanese cinemas. (helps with selling it to licensors)
I hope it gets a decent Blu-ray release, that CGI needs one.

According to this site, at 7pm. They don't explain where they got the time, though.

http://cms.mit.edu/events/specialevents.php#030110 is linked via "hosting" in the news item: March 1, 7pm, 26-100 (a large classroom/smallish auditorium often used for screenings). Similarly, click "26-100" at the above link to bring up a campus map with the location. Once on campus, ask any passerby how to get to "twenty-six-one-hundred".

Well, nice that they are getting it free. Though it's going to be a tight squeeze. I'll be catching it in two weeks at the NYICFF. It would be nice to catch a screening but usually when that happens seats fill up fast. I'd be surprised if they screened it at NYCC/NYAF 2010.

I will probably go to this. Been wanting to see this movie for a while, but I haven't been downloading any fansubbed material recently.

Well, it was an absolutely amazing experience. I just pray that this movie gets licensed soon. A dub would be great, but the subbed version was fantastic!
