what type of romance style do you like in anime? for me id have to say its the kind of affection shown between Koyuki and Maho in BECK, or Atomsk and Naota in the beginning scene of FLCL. i do see a bit of this in Air Gear as well.
i cant really explain this type of romantic style, if youve seen these then you might understand. if anything id have to explain it as an assertive girl who knows what she wants, yet isnt too 'over-the-top' about it, and a boy who while not turned off by it, acts timid, yet goes along with it letting her take the lead. i absolutely love this type of female character, and the male part couldnt complement it more.
does anybody know of any other animes like this? these 'romantic styles' of affection werent the main focus of any of these animes, yet it was just as much a part of them as everything else. im absolutly in love with these types of shows and the feeling they give me. what do you think? im sure you all have your own romantic preferences, id love to here what you think on the subject, and/or maybe a recommendation!

This one is on the border of being a recommendation thread (which isn't allowed), but since it is primarily asking a different and worthy question I'll allow it for now. If this turns into primarily a recommendation thread, though, then it will be locked.
And Bla7kCaT, please work on your capitalization in future posts. This is expected by forum standards around here.
To answer the OP's question, in anime I favor hard-won love, the kind where the characters have to go through all kinds of trials to hook up or where there's some major complication to them being in love that has to be confronted; the anime version of Romeo x Juliet is a great example of this. (I don't share this interest for real-life love, though!) Sweet, tender love and other styles have their own appeal, however.

I normally like any type of romance that has some kind of supernatural aspects to it. For examples all of the Key anime and both Ef's. But I also like realistic type anime such as 5cm Per Second and Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora.
I think I just love romance anime in general, but thats just me. I don't watch yuri or yaoi romance though, I guess thats where I draw the line. I think its fine if other people do though, whatever floats your boat right?

While I enjoyed the action aspects of Birth of Kitaro, I can't say it works that well as an entry point for new fans.― Modern folklore-focused anime and manga owe a huge debt to the work of 1960s manga GeGeGe no Kitaro's artist and writer Shigeru Mizuki. Jerome discusses the recent "kewpie-fication" of Ranma in MAPPA's animated remake of the classic series.― The internet asks: "Why is the nudity removed from the Ranma 1/2 remake?" Butt cracks were removed in a bath scene, too.”] This wouldn't be an Answerman column if we d...
It may be early days for Pretty Cure, but the bones of what has made it such an enduring franchise are there.― It feels obvious to say this, but Pretty Cure Max Heart, the second series in the franchise and a direct sequel to the first, is still finding its way in the greater scheme of things.
