How can a DVD released half years ago can suddenly sell 4,040 copies? (Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody)

I believe it was an effect of the Disappearance movie being shown in a few theatres.

2ch is attributing it to Amazon who just sold off their entire remaining stock at 966 yen each.

Just checked it on amazon.co.jp, while not as low as 3-digit, it is now ￥1,134 (about US$12.6)

But they are still selling those Endless Eight DVDs at normal prce...

Thanks for the correction. I imagine the other endless eight DVDs will be sold off eventually as well?

That's the regular edition. The copy listed is the limited edition which is now out of stock and was 966 yen.
