That's a winner for the name alone...
Wonder if it'll be any good?

Put the books on my Amazon Japan wishlist... I need some extra cash - I got over 100 items on my wishlist - that sucks...
But anyways, I will wait a few days for the 3rd novel to come out, and then get them all.

the name and girl got me in first of all, especially "Space Pirates" I reallllllly wanted to see a modern made made anime about them . This is gonna be great! It wouldve been great if it couldve been shounen with some romance, cause then it could run a lot longer . I do hope that this does run for quite a while!
Other than that, I can totalllllly trust that the animation is gonna be badass knowing that Satelight is doing it

Couldn't have put it better myself. Fanservice-laden sci-fi action comedies can have their gratifying qualities, provided they don't try to be more weighty than their premises allow.
Considering the title of this work however, I don't think that'll be a problem.

Well, by the plot summary alone it sounds like utter garbage, and the girl looks too much like Sheryl Nome. More importantly, what is up with that god-awful title? But hey, I'm not the target audience for this, so meh.

Looks to me like the title is ミニスカ宇宙海賊【パイレーツ】. Kanji is "uchuu kaizoku", with furigana "pairētsu": minisuka pairētsu.
[I think dormcat mentioned once that "please save my earth" is actually 僕の地球【たま】をまもって; shades of 大切なものをPROTECT MY BALLS...]

Know what I like about this anime? It's blunt about what it's about. Negima should have been called "Shotacon Rape".

Well, I guess that they decided that they actually need to give the author some time to publish enough material to adapt before they actually adapted it. It seems very odd to me for them to adapt it so quickly. Maybe it was really popular or the publisher is just really looking to hype it or something.
Unfortunately, adapting it so soon after its inception will likely mean that they'll never finish it (unless the book series ends up being really short) since they'll probably have to wait long enough between seasons (to give the author time to write more) that it'll die due to too large a gap between seasons. Of course, if it turns out to be utter garbage, then I don't suppose it matters all that much, but most of the light novel adaptations that I've seen have been fairly good IMO, though the quality does vary (still, better than the average I think). Not everything can be FMP or Haruhi.
