So anyone know this series, "Dame Oyaji"? It was a manga that ran in Shonen Sunday for about 12 years. It had an anime adaption for a short time in 1974, airing on TV Tokyo.
I'll admit that I'm pretty fascinated by it, if only because of how violent and mean-spirited it was. Apparently the violence in the anime was toned down compared to the level in the comic. If that's the case than I'm afraid to see what the comic has. The animation was super-bad, though. The show was done at Knack, not exactly TMS when it comes to quality. The show did horribly in ratings. It was only on for 6 months and during that they changed the time-slot twice. Not exactly a good sign. |
