Cue the anime haters saying Tarentino is a big Otaku for doing this and say that he should no longer be trusted, and also call for boycott of his latest film, Inglourious Basterds and also calling him that name for supporting anime in 3...2...1
edit: change indignous bastard to Inglourious Basterds

First, I'm happy that the long-promised single version of Kill Bill is finally coming out. The fact there there will be new anime footage is just icing on the cake. I wonder how many new minutes of anime footage we're talking about here.

Well, I guess this pretty much officially disproves the theory that the man who killed O-Ren's parents is Bill.

I love it, cant wait to see the whole thing. The first cut of it alone was cool but the full version will be awesome. Cant wait to see it.

We knew that in the first anime. we even witnessed she forked his sorry paedo arse with her katana. She didn't join up with Bill till after she grew up.

Yeah the guy with the long hair and the sword, with the ring on his finger. Who set the room on fire. I always thought that was supposed to be Bill, too.

Excellent. The anime segment was my favorite part of Kill Bill and one of my all time favorite animated action sequences.

This is the part where you explain why you think this so you don't look like a troll.

The original script of the movie doesn't have any of this "revenge" scene written up. Then again, the original script has many many many differences from the final film - different dialogue, long stretches of scenes added or removed.
That said, the original script doesn't have the scene Tarantino described in any way shape or form. Although it makes some sense that the man who killed her family wasn't Bill it kinda seems like an arbitrary scene to throw in.

No, no... they're talking about the ringed swordsman who did the deed, not the guy who ordered him to do it which is who we saw in that scene.
I never thought for a second that was Bill, it just didn't look at all like him...

Aww... I was hoping that it would be a light comedy segment featuring a super-moé version of Gogo Yubari and her four kawaii friends drinking tea after school at the medieval weapons club.

I think, if I...no. No I don't.
Anyway, anything that makes The Whole Bloody Affair more likely to, y'know, actually happen is good by me.
