Billy Bat!!.....Volume covers have never been Urasawa's strong point.
Hey Viz, wanna give us a real surprise at Anime Expo??? Wishful thinking, I know. I'm sure they'll wait at least until they've finished Pluto to license Billy Bat.

How many series have ever been licensed after only 1 volume was released? I mean, if it were a one-shot, that's one thing, but knowing Urasawa this will run for a loooong time.
Your other comment brings up a thought: who actually designs the covers to manga? I know the art is usually by the author, but who does the layout etc.?

Um... just a minor mistake when it comes to One Piece's numbers... in the total sales amount there's a coma missing. Just saying...

Popular in Japan doesn't always mean popular in America, or vice versa. That said, Kuroshitsuji ranks 85th at one of the online manga reading sites, which isn't bad for a non-weekly manga. That might be a better indicator of its potential success.
But if something is more popular, it may very well be tougher to license; Japanese companies can ask more if they know it's in demand, and unlike the anime business, manga still has some competition going between licensors.

I wish someone would license the Minami-ke manga to plug the long, long gaps in-between volumes of Strawberry Marshmallow with more moé slice-of-life comedy sweetness.
