I seriously don't get the Yokoso Anime line. As it is not reduced price, since the volumes are sold separately. For example, the four Yokoso volumes of Fruits Basket comes to the same cost as the full-price collection. Why not just re-release the collection at a reduced price instead of this weirdness.

The reduced price mainly comes into the equation for the movies.
However, the point of Yokoso Anime is to provide a cheap way to get into anime. Instead of dropping as you say $60 on Fruits Basket and hoping you'll like it, $15 for a volume sounds a tad more reasonable. If you don't like it, you're out only a quarter of the cost. Re-releasing at a cheaper price would be nicer, but unless they do it at something like $30-40 for sets, people won't take the jump. |
