Tsukiyomi (sp) Moon Phase is a more light-hearted vampiric tale. It's still got some dark elements, though.
There's another series freshly out, too, that ANN reviewed recently but I can't for the life of me remember the name. Or maybe it was a manga. Ergh.

I know what you're talking about and it's a manga by Sanami Matou who also wrote Fake. If you're not into Shounen ai I'd stay away since it's probably choc full of that and a whole lot more. It's called Until the Full Moon. Another one that is sort of vampire related if you are at all interested in manga is Lament of the Lamb which I've read the first volume of and I'd say it's worth a look.

There are 2 versions of Vampire Princess Miyu: TV series & OVA.
You don't state which you've got on order, but both are good.

Hellsing and the Vampire Hunter D films were the only real examples of the horor anime genre I enjoyed.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, the main villian, Dio Brando, is a vampire and one of the most bad ass villians of all time in anime.

If you want a comedic slant on Vampires, Master of Mosquiton is one.
And if you want some fight, Darkstalkers Dimitri whatshisname is a Vampire in that Anime. (And before someone says it, Morrigan and Lilith are Sucumbi, not Vampires.)

Seeing as how the OVA is one of my personal all-time favourite anime, I can't help but recommend it rather enthusiastically. But bear in mind though, that it's a pretty drastic departure from the more "cliché" vampire stories like Vampire Hunter D & Queen of the Damned, and an even more drastic departure from the Blade & Hellsing sort of "gun-fightin' vampire" series. But then...the fact that it actually tries something decidedly unique with the vampire concept is probably why I enjoy it so much...
