No complaints about the overall review, but I do think that "catty" was a poor choice of words here. Kirino does display a number of cat-like traits and certainly looks the part (she didn't acquire the fan nickname of "Lion-tan" for nothing ) But referring to a character as "catty" usually implies that they act in a cruel, malicious, and/or spiteful manner - which is almost the direct antithesis of the way Kirino behaves in the series. A minor quibble, but one I felt compelled to point out since it could give a reader a very wrong impression of Kirino. |

Yeah, I did consider the negative connotation that "catty" normally carries, but couldn't come up with a more fitting word here. I went back and added in the word "cheerfully" right ahead of it in the hopes of conveying a more accurate feel for her personality. |

Yeah, its definitely nice to hear Cherami perform a different kind of role. Most of the characters she plays tend to be pretty outspoken and sometimes loud; Lottie from Strain, Mai from Ghost Hunt, Setsuna from Negima!?. Not to say that's a bad thing as I more often than not enjoy her performances, but this shows that she definitely has range. But personally, based on the four dub episodes I saw, I liked Brina Palencia's Sayako the best; its just too fun! |

They did the same thing on the Spice and Wolf release. The new style of cases are not good, if anything they seem like they would break faster then the normal one disk per case deal. I rather see a two case release instead of the new style of cases. It doesn't save you any room, and it just looks bad in my mind. |

How could you not love the first episode? Especially when spoiler[Tamaki slaps a tennis ball, baseball, football and the principal all in one go with a broom!] That's pretty much the only part we disagree on, though, and it's not even that big a deal. I'm just much easier to entertain than most and like ridiculous overreactions. It's been a while since I've seen this and I'm dying to rewatch this dubbed. I'm just waiting for the complete collection since it'll be cheaper. It'll also be more clear from my mind by the time one's released and be more fun to rewatch.
I remember for the longest time after watching this, I wanted to do kendo. My reasons mostly matched Miyako's, though
Well, Cherami did also do Primula in Shuffle!, so she does have experience doing soft-spoken characters. I've only seen the first couple dub episodes from Funi's site and I have to agree, Brina's performance is awesome. She does teenage girl so well.
Actually, Spice and Wolf has a new kind of casing where it uses a flap instead of overlapping the discs. They did a Hey, Nice Package on it. I mean, it's still not great, but they don't overlap. I don't see why they don't just use double sided cases? |

It's the curse of having a descriptive term that ought to be perfect except for having associated negative baggage. Kirino may have a big cat's looks and mannerisms, but her personality is a lot closer to a golden retriever. |

"cat-like" mayhaps? I know hyphens are kind of cheap, but still. |

Physically, I think the double sided cases, such as they used for the Lupin "movies" would be best. However, with the styles used either for Bamboo Blade or Spice and Wolf they get a page of unobstructed interior art, which in these cases they used for tables of contents. |

Primula? Who was that again?... Oh yeah! The pointless lolli character! I don't think I'd count that as 'experience,' more like an 'exercise' seeing as that character had 0 personality.
Hmm, I can see that, but I honestly think Azuma would be the one easier to make that argument for. She's got the glasses and all. Although spoiler[I believe its revealed later that she doesn't need them?] |

spoiler[Yeah, she says she wears them because she hoped they would make her smarter] Yep, this is a great series. The characters are all a little more than they first appear to be, and it's just enjoyable to watch. It tells its messages without being preachy, and (almost) no one is a villain, simply an opponent. |
