Hi!
I'm a flash coder and I want to create a simple widget for my blog that shows the Top 10 rated Anime of the current season according to the ANN encoclopaedia. Unfortunately the data is split in two different lists html pages: animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/ratings-anime.php?top50=best_bayesian&n=500 animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/recently-added.php?n=500 So it's very difficult to parse. Is there a way to get a simple output page with the ANN Top 10 of the anime aired in the last months? Or, even better, is there an ANN rss feed for the anime added in the last six months, with fields like: anime name, url for the ANN enciclopaedia entry (clicking on the widget will take you to the ANN anime page), and the updated bayesian rating? Of course once done I will release the flash widget for free, and it will be a good advertising for ANN if many blogs start using it. thanks |

This is a great idea, and probably not too difficult. I'll see if we can do it. The only problem might be with updating the bayesian rating. I'm not sure if RSS built for this sort of thing. AFAIK, it's supposed to be an append only (append to the top) type list... Still, updating older entries doesn't break RSS (we do it on the site from time to time when we add "updated" to the article titles), so normal RSS readers would just ignore the updates, while your flash widget could re-import the entire list. -t |
