I've $150 to spend so I've narrowed down my anime choices to these 13 well 12
1. Angel Links $50 2. Arjuna $50 3. Ceres, Celestial Legend $260 (I know it's too expensive but I want it really I do) 4. Chrono Crusade $70 5. FLCL $95 6. Gasaraki $100 7. Haibane Renmei $95 8. Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade $60 9. Key the Metal Idol $50 10. Nadia and the Secret of Blue Water $100 11. Nightwalker $20 12. Ninja Scroll $35 13. Paranoia Agent $40 Can you guys help me out? thanks. Wow, a few those seem a little expensive. Allow me to assist you and give some comments on a few of your potential buys. I hope your living in the U.S. It will make things much easier

Angel Links: Collector's Edition Box Set - $23.41 -- A good and very underrated series, in my opinion, but unless you're just out of better stuff to buy, I'd get something else. It's not as good as Outlaw Star, but it's decent. Arjuna Collector's Edition Box Set - $29.99 -- Haven't seen it, but since the score's by Yoko Kanno, I'm sure I wouldn't mind watching it with her music. Ayashi no Ceres: Collector's Edition Vol.1 - $36.85 -- Haven't seen it either, but I hear it's very similar to Fushigi Yuugi, the only Yuu Watase material I've ever been exposed to, and I liked it . This is box #1 of 2 of the series and contains half the series.
Ayashi no Ceres: Collector's Edition Vol.2 - $37.19 -- The 2nd box that contains the rest of the series. It may look cheaper on the other site, but Deep Discount DVD offers free shippng, so it would save you a few dollars .
Chrno Crusade Vol.1 + box - $23.99 -- I've only seen the first volume and find the overall presentation of the series to be pretty interesting. I like the ending theme song too. Chrno Crusade Vol.2 - $17.99 Chrno Crusade Vol.3 - $17.99 FLCL Vol.1 - $17.70 -- I've only seen the entire thing once, but I like it a lot. It's crazy, but still maintains to keep a good story that was very entertaining to me. If you like rock music, I recommend you try to get the soundtrack someday as well  .
FLCL Vol.2 - $18.99 FLCL Vol.3 + Collector's Artbox - $24.99 -- I'm not sure if this is the real thing, as I've never even heard of this site till about a week ago, but this Artbox is SUPER RARE. You can usually only find them on eBay these days and the costs can go up to almost $100. Get this before you get any other volume so you'll be sure to have the box. Gasaraki Perfect Collection Box Set - $29.99 -- This link is an eBay auction, but I've looked it over and it is NOT a bootleg. Haven't seen it, but I hear a lot of people compare it to Evangelion. Haibane Renmei Vol.1 + Collector's Artbox - $29.99 -- Like Chrno Crusade, I've only seen the first volume, but a LOT of people say this is one of those masterpiece titles you just have to have if you enjoy good anime. I'll get the rest of it someday  .
Haibane Renmei Vol.2 - $21.19 Haibane Renmei Vol.3 - $21.19 Haibane Renmei Vol.4 - $21.75 Jin-Roh: 3 Disc Special Edition Box Set - $25.00 -- Another eBay auction, but it is NOT a bootleg. I've bought from this seller before, and they are very trustworthy. As for the movie, I rated it a Masterpiece. A lot of people I've talked to say it's really slow and uninvolving, but it just seems like a very unique and intersting title to me, nonetheless. Key the Metal Idol: The Complete Collection - $29.99 -- Haven't seen this either, but have heard good things and it looks like a good price, here. Nadia: Secret of Blue Water - Collection: Vol.1 - $29.99 -- Box #1 of 2. Nadia: Secret of Blue Water - Collection: Vol.2 - $29.99 -- Box #2 Nightwalker: Complete Collection - $10.78 Ninja Scroll: 10th Anniversary Special Edition - $18.61 -- One of my favorite anime movies of all-time. Yes, it's pretty much nothing but action, gore, violence, and a little bit of rape and nudity, but the energy it gives off is just so appealing to me. The Special Edition is awesome too. It looks and sounds so much better than the regular edition (if you have a DTS capable surround sound system). Paranoia Agent Vol.1 + Limited Edition Collector's Artbox - $29.99 -- I wished I'd seen a Satoshi Kon title, but like Miyazaki's movies, I haven't seen any  . Get it while you can .
Paranoia Agent Vol.2 - $22.31 Whew! That took a while. Hope this helps, and good luck getting what you want. Merry Christmas!

Wow, you did a great job finding those prices, Tony. However, this thread should go to Retail forum.
BTW, just adding my two cents:
I bought this Complete Collection from DDD as well. If you are a science major (biology/medicine in particular) and/or looking for a scientific or medical career in the future, or if you simply care more about our environment, Arjuna is a must watch. This is one of very few anime discussing serious environmental issue with quite a few degree of scientific accuracy (with a grain of science fictional salt, of course ), coupled with high-quality animation and great music.

You can find much better prices than those. trust me. I paid $50 total for the 2 Ceres sets. About $23 for Angel Links(OK to a point, but I was very disappointed in the end. In a lot of ways, I felt like I was re-watching the bit at the Leyline in Outlaw Star.)
Ceres has nice bishies, but Yu Watase can be annoying. It does have a good Japanese cast-Tomokazu Seki's Alexander Howell losing it is lots of fun, Katsuyuki Konishi as Toya is nice-he's Kyo/Kyoshiro in Samurai Deeper Kyo & Amidamaru in Shaman King. I enjoyed Nightwalker, but there are better vamp titles out there. |

FLCL is pretty cool but there are only about 6 episodes try to go with something that has more episodes so that you have more to watch. Thats just my opinion

Well, I checked the site yesterday while trying to buy R.O.D. the TV Vol.1 Limited Edition, and they are out of those FLCL Vol.3 w/ boxes. Sorry. Looks like eBay is the closest alternative for now. |

Arjuna is super duper preachy. It doesn't just lecture you on stuff like the environent and anti-abortion, it absolutely *beats* you over the head. Unless you've seen the series already, I really don't recommend it.
