I imagine most fighting in 0081 would have to be in space primarily. There's no way Zeon remnants could effectively get to earth. But then again, the end of it could show them go into hiding in Africa where we pick up in 0083. Had they been launching attacks from Earth then I'm sure even through the ether-thick incompetence of the Earth Federation, someone would realize that they have a base on land. All I can really hope out of the actual show (if it will exist) is for something like 0083. Doesn't need a huge complex plot, but maybe give it some damn good animation to make up for flaws in some way.
I'm sure more information will come out soon, because just having GM's and Zaku I's and II's seems odd when there's already tons of other mobile suits out there. Unless they mean that's what's playable when you're on the Feddie side since they seized and used Zakus as seen in 0083. If you're fighting Zeon there's still sure to be at least some Doms and Gelgoogs to fight.

I must say this is pretty pathetic for Bandai. Last time I checked Gundam was their biggest cash cow, and how do they celebrate it? A PS3 and a Giant Gundam that won't be up til next year. Like I wouldn't be pissed about this if they atleast made a new "All that Gundam" or something, but this is a joke for a 30th anniversary.

A previous announcement was that a "surprise project" would be announced after Gundam 00 Season 2 finishes airing. Last I check it is still on the air, so I doubt what is announced so far is all we will see for the 30th anniversary.
Bandai isn't as stupid as you think they are... At least I hope they are not.

I said before that I was surprised that we weren't even getting a new game for the 30th anniversary. Consider myself optimistic that this game will blow my socks off and make this a decent anniversary. The complete debacle that was the last two "next gen" Gundam games (operation troy for the 360, which never made it to America, and Target in Sight, the launch PS3 game that was one of the worst games ever made) leaves me with little hope that this one will be any better, but I'd love it if it were.
Ok, let's list the 30th anniversary things so far:
Gundam 0081 (probably an OVA, not a series)
Giant Gundam Statue (that I'll never see, since I'm not in Japan)
Gundam 0081 Game
If that is it, it is still a pretty weak anniversary. I guess it's understandable with the economy in the toilet though. It's a shame that the anniversary wasn't last year pre-crash.

There is no 0081 OVA or series. It's just a game.

Is that confirmed? If so, this is a massive let down. I mean, this game could be the best game ever made, and it would be the exact opposite, but considering their track record with games....
Come on Bandai...don't let us down...

RELIEF.
OK, so it was unlikely that a side project announced this early would constitute the entirety of their 30th anniversary surprise anyway, but it was a worry. Thank goodness the announcement is yet to come.

I really hope not too but I wouldn't put it past them. S2 ends in two weeks I believe so hopefully we will find out soon.
