Well, I just got done watchin the english dub of FMA, and you know how they get e-mail from people who watch adult swim, some said that "Anime is the lowest form of animation", and well, that comment just pissed me of to no end. I just want to know what others think about this.

You should get less angry about some random guy on the internet.

Also, did you read adult swim's response? I thought that was rather humorous.

You're right, I should, but I still insulted by his comment. And yes I did read the response. That still does not make me feel any better about it.

First off, take a chill pill, Rah-Rah. There's no reason to get worked up over a silly little comment. Second, anime is - in many people's eye's - the lowest form of animation.

Anime is guilty of using 'Lazy Animation' in heavy doses. It's one of the many reasons why some people don't think its' Grade-A animation.

Not all anime uses lazy animation, though. There are exceptions to everything.

well, even though some of anime is "lazy animation" its still good and it is not the only style that does it. look at some backround art in american cartoos, its really crappy sometimes, but people still watch it. also, whats more lazy than "gag" cartoons? you dont even need to proportioanlize, you just doodle.

-its just that if people arnt used to a style they denounce it. some only think it is "rape porn" and some people just hate cartoons alltogether.

--so stop focusing on what other people say about (those who hate it). Millions of people like it so i say "EGO FUM PAPA, SO SCREW YOU"

I'd highly advise you against such statements in the future. Doing a "cartoony" character design isn't just slopping down a doodle and calling it a day. Just as with a realistic character, there's still planning & development that goes into it in order to find the best way of bringing out that character's personality.

Simplistic? Yes. Talentless & lazy? Hell no.

actually whether you guys choose to accept it or not, from an artist's point of view anime is considered a very lazy art form. the whole foundation of modern manga was built on stealing off of other peoples' designs, particulary Osamu Tezuka and Katsuhiro Otomo.

Yeah, my art teacher was telling me about this. In Asian arts there is a different meanning of a "master of art" .
If you could draw as well as the original artists you are a master. that is why anime has SLOWLY advanced in its appereance. that probally why it so "lazy." All of their eyes are the same, the hair is drawn in the same way. shape of head is almost i dentical on each character.
