20th century boys volume 8 is currently listed as being released on May 18th, 3 months after volume 7. Previous volumes were released 2 months apart. My diamond previews lists it as being released on the 21st of April, but both Amazon, and Viz list it as being the 18th of may. Volume 9 is the 15th of June. Is this just a 1 time delay, or is 20th Century Boys going to a quarterly schedule? (Please, no.) Does anyone have any information?

Well, rightstuf has it listed for April 20th. It also has volume 9 for June 15th and volume 10 for August 17th, so I would say they are sticking to the two-month release. To me it seems this is a one-time delay. 20th century Boys has over 20 volumes so I don't see why they would have to space out releases that far (4 months).
Just be glad that you aren't waiting for the next Mpd-Psycho volume (and if you are then nvm), as the last volume was released June 3rd of last year! .

Yeah, i am reading MPD psycho. I'd totally forgotten it'd been that long. I guess we'll find out next week if it comes out. I sent an email to Viz, but I doubt they'll answer it.

It seems like a one time thing. They probably just fell a bit behind schedule or noticed a big error at the last minute and had to postpone its printing. The final volume of Pluto came out a few weeks after it was originally planned, so these things happen...especially with Urasawa series. I remember Monster having a delay or two as well.
On the Simon and Schuster website, volume 12 is listed as being released in December (meaning it's still on the same schedule), so nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the reply. I was just a little worried. I dunno if I can wait 3 months for my 20th century boys fix.

If my memory is accurate, I remember Monster had delays, but it also had a few early arrivals as well. I remember two volumes arriving within two months, so maybe Viz will make up for it.

Monster did indeed have one delay. Vol. 8 couldn't make its April 2007 date and was subsequently released in June. However, Vol. 9 was released one month later & Vol. 10 the month after that, so the intended release schedule resumed as normal.

My concern is that Eyeshield's gonna be slowed down, even though it's finished in Japan, which means I'll have to wait 'til at least the end of next year to get to the last volume. Oh, and Gin Tama fans might also be screwed, as that release is no longer going bi-monthly after volume 20.
