Let's say a certain company holds rights to a certain show you have been interested in for a while and is an ass about putting the show on US DVD. Your only option is the British release. I have my account set up, on Amazon, for USD, obviously. Can the system automatically convert from dollars to pounds or are you screwed unless you have an account set up for UK transfers?

There shouldn't be any problems. If you order from amazon.co.uk, it should automatically convert dollars to pounds for payment. I've placed an occasional order through them, and I've never had an problem with currency exchange issues.

Vice versa it isn't so good.
Since I don't have an internationally accepted card I can only make international purchases from the Marketplace on Amazon. I'm still figuring out how I'll be able to pre-order Kanon from the big stores who'll sell it below the MSRP. |
