Body farms...eye harvesting...I know what I want to read next. Please tell me that Ray is as bizzare as you made it sound. I just finished watching El Topo (probably the weirdest thing I've ever seen), and I want MORE, dammit! This sounds like the perfect thing for me to pick up right now.

I thought Taimashin was weirder than Ray, but Ray is still pretty strange. Seriously, if you've read Black Jack...it's like that only with X-ray vision.

I'm surprised you overlooked the constant porno references in GTO.

Other than that, good show!!

To lianncoop:
Just out of curiosity, how long does it take you on average to read one manga volume?
Keep up the good work Smile !

Hmm...on average I'd guess about 45 minutes...an hour? I've never really timed myself. ^_^; Sensual Phrase only took me about 15 minutes to get through while all of the others took me at least twice as long.

The only thing that I really remember about reading manga is that it took me a really long time to get through the first couple volumes of Trigun and even longer with Ghost in the Shell. :p

Thanks for reviewing Vampire Game. Your timing is somewhat amusing as the next issue comes out in about two weeks or so.

Are you buying all of these or are you reading them, taking notes, and then putting about half back on the shelf? As a WAG (wild as guess), I would expect you work in a bookstore and get to read this stuff more or less constantly.

Well, if she doesn't mind me answering, she has access to a decent selection in her local library. Also, she buys some, and some is actually sent to her by the companies (I think Anime smile + sweatdrop).

If she doesn't want me being nosy and is offended by this, then please feel free to delete this post and ban me for life Ms. Cooper Anime cry.

If she is getting these at her library then I for one am sincerely jealous. I have found few libraries that bother with graphic novels of any stripe. I'm told mine does, but I have yet to find the section dispite having looked for it several times. (It doesn't help that my kiddo is not interested in cooperating in library visits.)

I do hope that several of the companies are sending her copies to review because her review do influence people to go read things out of their usual fare. I find that I rather look forward to her reviews to get a better idea of wether or not to try new series. I'm actively collecting far too many to get away with just randomly adding more, my husband would be quite put out if I started and dropped something on a whim.

You might not want to make that offer. I saw an episode of The Apprentice where one guy earned immunity and then felt confident enough to give it up. He was fired for making the mistake of giving up immunity.

Well...at least she finally got around to putting GTO in her column. Too bad she said that it was leanind towards mediocrity or something of that sort. Anime cry

Oh well...I will forgo that message:
Quote:
GTO has definitely been an up and down ride for me and has finally settled into a plateau of mediocrity
But in truth, I didn't really like volume 20 because of the entrance of new characters. That was the same with the entrance of Mayu, and is the same with the entrance of Daimon and co.

It is just the sound of "plateau of mediocrity" sounds harsh to me Very Happy
