Sorry to ask, but I've been looking all over the net and in the encyclopedia but it doesn't seem to clearly say when Production IG started doing all their shows in HD. I know Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex was done in HD from the start so I would think 2002.

The reason I ask is because I'm a big IGPX fan and even though the chances are incredibly slim, I'd like to know if a Blu-ray to be ever made if it'd actually be in HD and not an upscale. Thank you in advanced for your responses.

Well, a lot of the possibility on whether or not something gets any kind of release (BD, DVD, or whatever) is dependent on sales figures. GitS: SAC is a pretty popular franchise, so it shouldn't be too big a surprise that it had a high enough budget for HD production and its eventual BD box sets because they already had an inkling that it would do well. IGPX, on the other hand, I don't know. If it'll sell enough, then maybe they could.

Japan seems pretty good at putting a lot of their titles on BD (old and new), so I wouldn't completely rule it out. In the U.S., though? Chances are pretty slim unless it's super-popular.
